Okay this is to all my friends that have my private Yahoo email address. You can imagine my shock, when upon looking at my emails I came across some emails from my friends asking about the email I "supposedly" sent them about this great deal about a laptop.
The Subject says: How are you recently
And here's the email sent:
How are you recently?
I bought a laptop from a website: www.enjoyele.com last week. I have got the product. Its quality is very good and the price is competitive. They also sell phones, TV, psp, motor and so on. By the way, they import product from Korea and sell new and original products. They have good reputation and have many good feedbacks. If you need these products, look at this website will be a clever choice. I am sure you will get many surprise and benefits.
you can contact they, Email:enjoyele@hotmail.com
Greetings!
Now anyone who knows me, knows I'm on benefits...I couldn't possibly afford even the cheapest of laptops. My email is flooded now with emails from my friends asking about this great deal...and as you can guess many suspect my email address has been hacked into.
So here I am trying to contact Yahoo and failing miserably..I can't find the right place to contact--so do any of you have a clue how I should contact Yahoo...I just can't find the place to contact

Hey pye. I'm one of those friends that got that email. It sucks that your account got hacked into. Here's a link to contact them. Hopefully it is what you are looking for.

Sorry! I read my private email before the myLot email, and didn't realise that you'd already heard about the laptop offer. You could try sending email to
security@yahoo-inc.com
Another way I find numbers for US companies that aren't otherwise listed is to check via the Better Business Bureau www.bbb.org
Calling the number listed there usually gets you on the correct path, especially if you can get them to transfer calls internally.

Changing your password daily for a while could help. A friend's yahoo account has been hacked before, and when she does that it stops. Make sure your email is not listed on a social site like facebook or myspace. Many people seem to have trouble that starts there.

Yes. pyewacket, I suspected that it didn't sound anything like you, but I rationalized that it was probably just one of those stock emails they send out when they ask you to invite friends to a new site. I did(foolishly), follow the link, so I hope I did not pick up any of the little nasties in the brief time I was there. I immediately got a Bad Site Warning. As someone who has taken the test to see how much I know about spyware, malware, and other threats, I should have been suspicious due to the poorly worded email. To solve the problem you might want to set up a live chat with ATT.

LOL--I don't have ATT but Verizon...I once tried doing a live chat thing with Yahoo about something else..it's NOT so live but an automated response thing, so got real frustrated

Pye, I seriously don't think Yahoo will do anything about it. Customer service probably won't contact you immediately and now that someone has mentioned facebook, I'm wondering too if that's where the culprit came from. Can you possibly close your accounts and re-open with new one's? I feel so bad for you right now and I don't know what to do or tell you.

It would be such a friggin hassle to close any accounts since they are linked with other accounts...in otherwords, I'm afraid to do anything cause I might zap something...I would also have to start from scratch about adding contacts...did manage to email Yahoo at several sources...hope to hear from them

Wow so sorry to hear that and I hope you get in touch my yahoo soon because these guys are definitely keen on ripping off all your friends and ruining your reputation.I think what has happened you must have gone on some hacker site and just like that they were able to get your password. The good thing is most of your friends would know that you are not unscrupulous

I don't think I could have gone to a hacker site since I'm very wary of what sites I go to

This is terrible! I hope that you can get it straightened out soon! Someone has hacked my daughter's paypal account. They authorized a $60 payment to a company in Utah. There wasn't enough in her paypal account, so it withdrew it from her checking account via her debit card. This caused 8 checks to bounce. We had to go and file a police report.

Hi pye, I am one of those friends of yours who has benefited in getting your email addy but I do not sell or indiscriminately make public my friends email addresses as much as I don't like mine to be made public and flood my emails with junks which I am now getting tons of spam emails daily. I have no where of knowing how to filter spam mails from my email address. All I do is to clear my mails daily before they pile up my email inbox.

[b]No, sorry--wish I did, Pye! It makes me so angry what they have done to you!!!
Please keep us posted on developments. The title looked "personal & personable," IOW, as if you could have written it (& once in a blue moon, I do get something recommended by a friend,on & off MyBot), but in the body of the message, this was sooo un-Pyewacket it raised my hackles! Glad I'm not the only one who sent you a heads up!

I got one of those emails! This enjoyele even sounded familiar. I think someone on here is doing it. Funny how all this happened with members on here. There is a number you can call for Yahoo Support. I have used it and they are very nice. I hope all of us on here have good security on our computers. It is well worth it.

Bright Blessings.

this happened to a friend - this was plugging a website for an ipod or something. it obviously was not him as it was signed off with his first name rather than nickname and apart from that was clearly not the sort of message he'd ever send. actually i am not sure how it was sorted or how it happened in the first place, but it does seem to happen quite a lot.

I never faced this situation coz i dont give any of my email password in any social networking sites.some of my friends accounts have been hacked through facebook,so had no other option but to create another one.i dont think there would be any use contacting yahoo till then your hackers would have forwarded some more bonanza offers to your friends list
.so better change it.gud day.

Gotta admit, pye....sure was surprised to receive that e-mail from you, now I have to, I think, block your e-mail address...now that it has been hacked. I really don't want to lose contact with you...but it is the only way that I can see to stop any viruses, etc. Thank you....Thank you for the warning, I had NOT gone to the site, but nearly sent it to my son, as he is buying a laptop for his fiance for Christmas. Thanks again...pye...hope someone can help with the tools to clear up this matter. Cheers!

Hey pye! Like I said to you before, I was immediately suspicious
when I got the email because I know you and knew that you would
never send an email like that or buy a laptop! That is so phucked
up of someone to do that to you! I wish I did know how to help
you, but I have no idea! I only use my Yahoo addy for mylot!
My other account gets most of my spam scams and they are filtered
pretty well! I just hope that you get it sorted and out and find
out who and how did this to you! It was a really messed up thing
to do! But, for your friends who really know you (like me), we
weren't fooled and were suspicious right away! Oh, and Pyewacket
looks really nice with his "Christmas Wear"! I would try to
put mine up again, but knowing me, I'll screw it up trying to
do it again!
