sudden surge of pushy cart salespeople that jump out at you

recently, I"ve noticed more and more pushy sales people who leap out at you from their sales carts at shopping centres to make you buy something. they are really In Your Face and keep talking even after you have indicated with a smile that you are a) not interested, b) rushing somewhere. Some even intrude into your personal space (ok, not some, they all do) and plonk down some massage cushion onto your shoulders unsolicited. I wonder where they come from, and whether they are on legal employment passes. they seem to be westerners and maybe that is why they don't understand our culture. I really hope there'd be some way of stopping the mushrooming of these people from spoiling my shopping experiences. perhaps I shall write to shopping centres to say that these people who rent their space are so pesky that they are driving me out from patronising their shopping centres. have you met these people?

I know exactly what you mean, because I too have had this happen to me. This problem is not worth losing your temper, and or, telling the sales person off. Instead why not play dumb, and mention that your nurse doesn't allow you any money! Then ask for help. Just say, "Hey could you call the asylum and ask for my nurse? ( Nine chances out of ten, the super salesman will leave you quickly and go looking for another client!

Great idea. I love your suggestion. I will have to remember that next time. I am tired of these sales people being pushy. It seems like the closer it is to Christmas the pushier thay are. It almost seems like they are working on commission and I guess the more they sell the more percentage they get.

I get put off my shopping when a pushy sales person bothers me as soon as I enter a shop. I usually say that I am just looking or considering buying a particular item. It was so challenging when I wanted to buy a backpack and a sales man kept bothering me. I said I wanted to make up my own mind. In the end he left me to decide. It is not right that pushy sales people jump out and pester shoppers. It is much better to ask a sales person if necessary but otherwise to pick the item then pay for it.

I hate pushy sales people, especially if I do not have the money to buy things other than what I have gone for. I usually shop online to avoid getting out and dealing with those types of people.

YEah, those salesperson are really annoying.. haha =D I even have got a fren, whereby shoppers had to hide in her shop, just to be rid of the salesperson.. haha =D But those ple are very insistent, and start to become smarter after 2 days.. They begin to stand right at the entrance of my fren's shop, so that ple wont be able go inside!! Aint they selfish?? And to think that they are staff from standard chartered bank??

I have noticed that too. I think the reason why they push is because they are trying to cushion their commission. They figure the more they sell the more money they will make. I know the other day my husband and I went to Hallmark and we were not in there two minutes before they asked if we needed help with anything. I was mad because they did not give us a chance to look. I had worked retail before, but I never asked anyone if they needed help unless I could tell that they were lost.

Ha ha ha ha ha... well, my wife says that I have a face that will scare off the devil sometimes. And so far, no one has ever approached me this way. The one time that it did happen to me, I turned around and smacked the fella! I was shocked when some one jumped me from behind and placed the massage cushion on my shoulders when I walked past the stall. And my reaction was to grab the cushion, turned around and smacked the fella who did it. Cos I thought I was attacked by some robber trying to gag me! The poor chap was so shocked that I smacked him. We apologized to each other and I still told him off and gave him a good piece of my mind after apologizing to him for smacking him. Boy, was it a commotion! And after I gave that chap a piece of my mind, then it suddenly dawned on me that everyone around me was looking at what the commotion was about! It was pretty embarrassing!
