I’ve just discovered a new drink and I really like it but I’d like to know a little more about it and what other ppl think of it. It’s called Lipton Green Tea with Citrus. My Mom says it’s supposed to have antioxidants in it that help clean out your body and it does have a small emblem on the label that says “contains natural AOX antioxidants”. It also says it contains no juice and low sodium. It has 21g of sugar in it. I also notice that the second ingredient is high fructose corn syrup (the first ingredient is water).
So, do you think this is a good thing to drink? Do you think it does much in the way of cleaning out your body? Do you think this would be a good drink for a diabetic to have? Have you tried it and did you like it?

I would not be interested in this product. High fructose corn syrup is a big NO NO around here and the fact that it contains no natural antioxidants is also against it. You can get just plain green tea that is very good for you and if you were to put a little orange juice in it would have a much better drink for your health.

Green tea is an excellent anti-oxidant and new studies have shown that adults who drink 3 cups a day may have a lower risk of getting cancer. . . but green tea in a bottle with high fructose corn syrup and sugar? I'm not a nutritionist, but I do know a little about the effects of simple carbs and it looks like the sweetners used would cancel out any benefit you might get from the green tea. Is it safe for a diabetic? Absolutely not! I haven't tried the bottled drink, but I do like green tea with some lemon juice in it. I think the two together are an excellent way to keep the PH in the digestive tract in balance, but I want to brew my own, not drink a processed bottled drink.

I purchased some out of a machine once thinking it would be healthy because green tea itself is very healthy. It also tasted pretty good, however when I looked at how much sugar is in it I did not want to drink any more. Since it is green tea it probably has some antioxidant properties in it however the sugar content kind of ruins that. No I don't think it would be a good drink for a diabetic, perhaps if they made it with Sweet and Low or something like that it would be much better. Better to make your own iced tea out of green tea and add a little lemon juice if you like and some sweet and low. I think iced tea is better with out sweeteners though, but that is just me.

This seems to have a high amount of sugar in it don't you think? I drink green tea but I do not buy the ones that have added sugar. I don't know if it cleanses the body but it does have a high amount of anti oxidants and that is good for us to have. Blessings

My daughter drinks it for a change of pace. I don't think it would be good for diabetics as it does contain sugar. I like regular tea.

Well green tea is supposed to be very good for you but I would think the fact that it has high fructose corn syrup in it takes away from the health benefits of the green tea. I've had this drink but I like the newer one they came out with that is sparkling green tea with citrus. That is really tasty.

Yes thats the stuff I was talking about :) There is two flavors I believe. One is sparkling green tea and one is sparkling raspberry white tea or something like that. OMG the raspberry kind is so good. It does taste like soda but is healthier then soda. I never drink soda its so bad for us.

I have brought Lipton Green Tea and other product by Lipton and never knew it to have High Fructose Corn Syrup. That is very strange and I can't wait to go to the store to check this out. I have other lipton teas and there is no mention of that ingredient in it. I drink green tea all the time (everyday) my green tea says for ingredients: green tea, white tea, natural lemon and honey flavors wth other natural flavors. contains soy lecthin, licorice, lemon verbena, roasted chicory, ginger, orange blossoms, honey and asian ginseng. This brand is Celestial 100% natural teas with natural antioxidant. High Fructose Corn Syrup is definitely not good for you. I have other lipton tea boxes here and none mention that ingredient.

I've had this stuff before and I thought that it was pretty darned good. My grandmother also liked it as well when she drank it in moderation. She was a diabetic, but she was always allowed to have sugar in moderation. The sugar content does ruin some of the good effects of the green tea. However, if I was ever faced with a choice between only this or only a soda, I would make the choice to drink the green tea drink first.

Hi there.. I love drinking any kind of green tea... yes it is all true that all tea has antioxidant, which is good for cleaning out our body. But I always prefer brewed green tea with no sugar just a natural and pure green tea without any additives. I think commercialized green tea like the Lipton green tea in the bottle is good but not so good compare to the natural brewed green tea. So for health wise, go for the natural and pure @changjiangzhibin89 (17239)

I love this tea. I purchase everytime I get a chance when I'm at the supermarket. But I have a bottle a day when I'm at work it is the first thing I drink when I haven't had time to fix me some coffee. LOVE IT AND SO DO MY KIDS.

21 grams of sugar is a lot of sugar for one drink. Also the high fructose corn syrup is a disaster waiting to happen. You should look for another brand without all that sugar and corn syrup if you are at all concerned about a healthy drink. Even 7 UP has antioxidants on the label, that really doesn't help much if it is negated with all the bad-for-you stuff.
Actually I think I have seen Lipton Green Tea that is sugar free, and you can probably add the citurs flavor with fresh fruit juice or even Crystal Light. Citrus could just mean lemon.

I drink green tea but without the sugar. It really is supposed to be good for you, but I doubt this particular one, with that much sugar is good for diabetics. You can find unsweetened green ice tea in the organic section of most grocery stores though.

It's sugar water. I don't think it's a good drink for anyone to have. A diabetic should NOT drink it. Regular ol green tea has antioxidants. Just boil up some tea and put it in a bottle in the refrigerator. It will be cheaper, healthier and taste a lot better.
They even sell Green tea with flavors. I buy green tea and jasmine. I've seen others, but I like the jasmine smell. Take a vitamin C pill. It has antioxidants. Some of the vitamin C pills taste really good. I like the ones with sugar, but there are many without.

Yeah, I love this Lipton Green Tea with Citrus...I became obsessed with this product for a while when I discovered they are heavy on the sugar and sodium. I observed though that I frequently urinate whenever I drink this stuff. Nothing happend to my body when I drink it, if it's rich in anti-oxidants then I should be feeling the changes it should do. Anyway, if you really want this drink just drink in moderation...anything too much could be bad...especially when this drink is artificial.
