Would you want to live in a world where everyone has equal resources?

Like in a communist system except that it applies to everyone and not differentiate between the leaders and poorer class(who resources are the ones to get distributted) .I am thinking a system in which everyone worked and pooled their resources so that everyone has the same amount of resources .Or do you prefer what now obtains where one can work and achieve more financial resources while others for whatever circumstances have little or nothing .

I think I like it the way it is.
I know that there are people out there that are more educated and skilled than I am, and they generally earn more money. I think its great! I'm comfortable with where I am in life. And I understand there are plenty of people suffering for work, food, money to do anything with really - and my heart goes out to them.
But I think bottom line - I like it the way it is.

Honestly - I know in my area any way - the poor are the the ones who don't try and find a job. Don't try and do anything except find ways to get the government to pay them. Most of the area is on SSI for silly things like "anxiety, depression, etc" But never go to a therapist to work thru their problems, etc.
I think the welfare system is too easy on the "gold members" (i.e. the ones who have been on it forever without trying to improve their income, etc on their own) and too rough on the new comers (the ones who have recently lost their jobs due to this and that and really do just need the temporary help as it was intended)
I know times are tough - and we'll get it turned around sooner or later - but I think even if you tried to impliment anything like you're talking about - the greedy will always find a way to have more - it would never work. There would still have to be people in charge who get more than others... and if you owned a company, how would you be able to control how good your sales are? You can't marke everything down just because its the way things go.
I just don't see how it would solve anything. I don't understand how you would even put anything like that into action unless the entire country was demolished and we started from the dirt and built our way back up.

If everything stays "the way it is" the rich getting richer, and the poor- esp. the minorities getting poorer - we are going to have a second civil war or armed revolution. makes no difference to me; I can't wait till this criminal communist, bolshevick system is overthrown.then my oppressed black brothers can finally be free.(I'm not black by the way)

Hey friend I think we are already living in a world where everyone has equal resources(not material resources). Because everyone is endowed with equal intelligence. But some people fail to realize it. Some make the best use of their intelligence and get to next ladder of excellency.

One thing we all have that is equal is: time. No one gets more, or can use more than any one else. We can't save it up so we have more either. It's the only thing we truly all have the same!

We do have equal resources. We all basically have equal opportunites to become and live however we wish. But people have to realize that nothing is going to happen for them in life if they sit on the couch waiting for it. Its the persistant... the driven people who get to be on top.
Some people just have a little more hitch in their gitty up!

i ronnyb, I think that we need a middle of the road approach as no one should have to do without the basic necessities of life, yet these who excel must be rewarded in some way. If people would only realize that no one needs to be a billionaire, we would be on the right track. Blessings

I don't think that would work, because there will be alot of people who won't work as much as everyone else is, and there will be people that will complain about it and ask why they should receive the same resources as the people who have worked more, it wouldn't be fair to them. I think people should work for the things they want, and there are alot of people who have worked hard for what they have.

If everyone had the exact same resources who would decide who does which job? There are occupations out there that are more difficult than others and therefore require to be paid more otherwise it would not be a very fair system. It sounds good in theory for everyone to share all there is with one another but in practice I don’t think it would work as well as we would like it to.

That's not possible. If everyone has equal resources, then no one will want to work in farms and produce food for the population.

I cannot visualize a world where everyone pool their resources without problems. If everyone is pooling their resources so everyone can be fed cloth etc, what is the incentive to work. The other people are going to take care of me so there is no need to contribute. There are always going to be folks who do not want to work and contribute so when they decide they don't want to contribute what happen do they not receive any resources.

Would there be free will? Freedom of Religion or From religion? If not, I rather not. If so, then why not. As long as a person can decide where to live , what to do for a living, and which Deity to worship or Not worship I would love to live there.

The zest for living mainly comes from competition - healthy competition. If everyone is equal I would find it quite lacklustre. If resources are to be distributed and those resources if they are the result of a few working hard no one would be interested in putting their might!

It is welcome. I like to be in that system. But USSR failed in that system. In this system, the negative aspect is that, some lazy people or the negative people may not contribute to the growth of the State. In this system all should work , and that should be made compulsory. The work should be according to their capacity. The one work hard should be given sufficient rest to look after the health. Even in democratic system , which is at present, practiced is a good system. But the corrupted Politicians rules the country and that makes the people suffer. No poor, self sacrificing man can get the representation in the Government.Money power plays the role.

Equal on what level? That of a millionaire OR that of the working class. B/c most working class folks would love to have enough money where they didn't have to work if they didn't want to! Now if you are asking me do I agree with having base standard of equal resources then YES I DO.

I'm not sure! It's not a bad idea, but is this possible at all? I think it's not. This is communism, I suppose. And the history says that it's impossible thing. The people were never with equal resources. During the prehistoric period we re hunting. What you find is yours. And now many many years of evolution later we're still doing it, don't you think? It is not possible. John Lennon dreamed about this, but even he says it's just a dream. People should pass more years of evolution to reach this.

No i wouldn't specially after watching Bruce almighty And matrix(when the agent describes about perfect world lol).I think its natural way of survival of fittest and if there would be no competition it would be so boring.there wont be any more fun in doing anything.World would become more boring place.
Another way of looking to it would be if everyone get awesome resources like a mansion to live, moneymaking tree, all tech stuff for free, games, music, movies for free would be awesome but importance of watching a movie first day first show will go, excitement will be gone.

surely i wont live in that type of world. as a human being we need variation and we shall take the challenge from this world. this let us a motivation to move ahead, to improve ourself and learn new things to survive in this world.although there are many unfair situation around us, take this as challenge and take this as a lesson. you will only grow when you meet problem and settle it yourself and not just thinking of live in a world where everyone has equal resources.

I would love to see everyone have the same resources. But still be able to achieve a greater success if possible. I hate seeing people poor and going hungry. I hate seeing someone with clothing that doesn't match freom the salvation army when their next door neighbor wears designer clothes. I also wish to see people recycle their things or donate more often than throw in the trash.

Good discussion Ronnyb, I can see where there would be advantages of everyone being equal. I can also see disadvantages. If each person would do there part it would be a good thing but we both know there will always somebody that will not do that. I think it would be good for the higher ups to have to livelike us normal people do & have some of the struggles we face everyday. Might open quite a few eyes if that happened. People born w/that silver spoon in their mouths have nooooooo idea.

Even if the situation could exist such as you described, and it was all "fair" it still wouldn't be that way for long. It wouldn't take long until the frugal ones had more than the wasteful ones! Just a few short weeks and there would be rich and poor status once again!

The idea of it had been one of the foundations of communism. Its never been proven to be effective in a communist country. The ant colony is like this, its because they lack the free-will. I will not do the word works like in the field or in the construction sites or mining sites but rather have a more easier work like a waiter or a salesperson since they will have the same amount of wages every payday.

Yes, I would like to live in a place like that! I think countries with equal resources will have no conflicts and there will be no wars and terrorism. If it is possible, I think the world will become to one better place for living, but maybe it is 99,9% impossible! If all the countries have equal resources there will be no hungry people, because they will have what to eat! It looks so unbelievable!
