| | First of all,I am against of the motion. The United States of America is sufferring from deep debt problems not only within these years, but since the 19th century. The American people haven't even find an appropriate way to repay their debt. Now,president Obama is proposing for the health reform, which I think is another way to stimulate the domestic cosuming. It is the opposite way that we should have gone. The American people,as well as the government, should spend less and save more in order to strike a balance on the current account. The CA deficit is hitting a record 10 TRILLION dollars, which ammounts to nearlly 80% of its gross domestic income! If you are going to leave our offsprings in the living hell, vote for the motion. But your grandchildren are gonna hate you for your selfish! I am a Chinese. We Chinese are the largest holder of US foreign debt.I am very worried about the situation of US government spending and the over spending of US families.I doubt whether you have the capability to repay the bill and if yes,how long. | | | | | | |

| | What you have to understand is that our economy is still largest in the world, and has the ability to create huge amounts of revenue quickly. The US does have a large deficit, but ten years ago we had a budget surplus. If our debt was such an issue then why is it when ever we put up US bonds, the world continues to buy them up with no change in value (unlike much of Europe). | | | |

| | You are right about the revenue generation part. But there is something worth mentioning that the interest rate rised before the implementation of the loosened monetary policy, which suggested that the acceptance of the US treasury bond was falling a little,if not significantly.Let's imagine a worse scenario, when other countries are in trouble with their cash flow, who is supposed to pay the bill for American people? Secondly, countries like China,Japan and oil producer countries are buying US bonds because it is by far considered a secured place to invest, but there is gonna be a breakthrough point. In the talk by China's premier,he fully expressed his concern over the quality of US treasury bonds and the value of US dollar. And also,China is putting more weightage of its foreign reserve on Gold, which is more stable in value. If America cannot realise the serious situation with its faith in monetary and fiscal policies,it can cause discontent by the creditors and will bring global turmoil. | | | |

| | God, one of the other reasons these countries purchase our bonds is because it is in their best interest. The US is the largest trading partner for all of these countries, and if they decide to stop funding us, then the US can slap tariffs on that countries products, and destroy their economy. Everyone is in this together, and if they don't work together than they all will collapse, and no one would like that. | | | |

| | Our country is in the middle of two bloody wars,1.5 million people filed for bankruptcy the past year, over 1 million homeowners are at least 90 day's behind in their payment's. Private credit debt for the American people is 2 trillion dollars. 1 million workers has gave up looking for a job and five million are collecting unemployment. Unemployment is at a 26 year high and 37.5 Americans are receiving food stamps for them self's and their house hold. Business such as Whirlpool and Brunswick has moved their business to either China or Mexico. Revenue is down 37% and on the rise and this is just the short list. This democrat health care bill comes with a 950 billion price tag the first 10 year's. 60-70% of the American people has rejected this democrat health care bill because it is very far reaching and places a man date on the American people which is 100% unconstitutional. In my opinion being are county is trillions in debt to a communist country (China) a debt Obama on record has said more then once is unsubstantial, this is a very bad time to be wasting the past year on health care, talking, talking and even more talking, our leadership should be only talking about getting this county back to work. | | | | | | |

| | Sorry about the typo,Obama is on record more then once saying the debt of the United States is unsustainable. Why would any one in their right mind bury the country more in debt unless they have a plan to destroy the United States of American from with in. | | | |

| | Kenny, I noticed that you didn't mention that this would LOWER THE NATIONAL DEBT. I am sure that you just forgot to put that in there, and it was an honest mistake. I noticed that you pointed out the bankruptcy numbers: Did you know that the majority of them were do to MEDICAL BILLS. I am sure that you know this, and again it must have just slipped your mind. When you mention these companies moving overseas I am sure that you know that US corporations that support communist countries are pushing manufacturers to move to China because of their large investment in China, and the fact that they can force them to lower their prices, and make more profit. I am sure that if you do a search for Lee Scott (former CEO of WalMart) and encouraging US corporations to move to China on CNBC's "Age of WalMart", you might actually learn something about this subject (pardon me if I don't hold my breathe). When you quote numbers that doesn't mean a thing. For instance there was a study the the vast majority of Americans disapprove of the economic stimulus, but when you take them part by part, the vast majority approve of it. Obama is correct, our debt isn't sustainable, but for all of you upset about this, why don't you ask republicans why they NEVER funded ANY of the wars that Bush fought? How did he think we would be able to spend hundreds of Billions that we didn't have on these wars? | | | |

| | It really should be in the Constitution that the federal government has a balanced budget every single year. The only exception should be when there are natural disasters that require government aid. Other than that the federal government should never go into debt, certainly not the way that it has. The best years in this country were when the federal government had balanced budgets. Politicians would be wise to remember that and stop sending this country into bankruptcy. | | | |

| | YES it is time, and YES I would vote for it. Our economy is being hurt by the amount that we pay for insurance, you could even make a case for it being a matter of national security. What people don't understand is how much money tax payer pay for hospital visits by uninsured Americans, and by those that run up huge bills and file bankruptcy. This all comes out of tax payer pockets, and cost us billions that we don't need to pay. | | | | | | |

| | This is selfishness.I think you must have felt unfairly treated for other people who are in bad need of treatment are included in the system.I understand you.I sometimes feel the same way as you do.But there is a fact ignored by you that the American people are spending toooo much than they earn. What is the balance of your credit card bill?Is it a little bigger, bigger or a LOT bigger than the amount you pay for insurance premium? Also, pls be aware that the government,by its very name, have the responsibility to use the tool we call transfer payment, which substancially improve the low incomers' life.I think it's time for both American government and American people to cut their spending, live below your means in order to make both ends meet. | | | |

| | God, I don't have any credit cards myself, and I pay over $600 a month between insurance, doctor appointments, and medications. I agree with you that Americans spend more money than we make, and it needs to stop. But, the irony is that if it wasn't for our spending, and the greed from corporate America, your country would still be in the 1800's. I am not trying to be mean, but you know as well as I do that this is a fact. So, while you are complaining about our spending, if we did what you wanted us to do, your country would spiral back into a completely government country communist country who's only employer would be the government. Something that no one in the world wants. | | | |

| | I don't see how anyone could be in favor of health care reform now when we still have 10% unemployment. Where's the money going to come from to pay for this when so many people are still unemployed? The president and Congress made a huge mistake by making health care the first big priority instead of fixing the economy and creating jobs. Not to mention that the Congressional Budget Office and independent experts still say that this bill won't reduce health care costs. If it doesn't reduce health care costs then what's the point? If they want to pass something, make it a small bill focused around stuff like opening up interstate sales of health insurance instead of this big bill that includes a lot of stuff that isn't going to help at all. But what they really need to do, and should have been doing from day one, is put off health care reform until they fix the economy and create jobs. Why Obama thought that health care should be his first big project is beyond me. That was a big mistake and I think it shows that he really isn't ready to be president. | | | | | | |

| | We need reform right now. What kind of reform is the issue. What we need is freedom to buy health insurance from any state. We need Tort Reform. We need expanded Health Savings Accounts. Beyond that we need to break the strangle hold the American Medical Association, AMA, and other Health Professional Groups have on the medical profession. Through laws and regulations they are restricting the number of health care workers who can enter the field. These groups have kept alternative medical practice from the public. Let the people decide on Insurance, their Doctor, or their type of medical treatment. | | | | | | |

| | Depends on what you mean by "the time". We certainly need health insurance reform right now, but we don't need this piece of garbage that they call a health care bill and we won't get the right reform until we get politicians in office that actually care about us. I would not dream of voting for the bill in congress right now. It is unconstitutional and would FORCE people to buy health insurance whether they want it or not. I'm struggling to pay bills right now and the last thing I need is for the government to force me to buy something I can't afford and don't need. All this bill is is a big gift for the insurance companies as it would force Americans to buy their product and line their pockets. | | | | | | |

| | It will hurt the Insurance Companies. They will be forced to accept all people who apply at the same rate as healthy people while reducing their premiums. Business will be able to pay a small fine and have the government pay for their insurance. | | | |

| | No one is debating we need reform but we don't need the type of reform congress is trying to poke down our throat......Where in the Constitution does it say that the government has to give us health care.......If you think its going to be free forget it......It's going to cost more than what you are paying now....... When government takes over things it always cost more cause they can't manage anything take a good look at the post office and medicare since they took over to hear them telll it they are broke and why would you want the government run anything cause they don'tknow what they are doing....... Face it most of them are babbling idiots included the President......More like the blind leading the blind..... | | | | | | |
