Glenn Beck is bad for America - - Agree or Disagree?  

I am watching this now. I am a bit put off by Glenn Beck. I think he is trying to set up Massa. I believe that Massa is trying to explain but Beck isn't hearing it.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that far. But, I was a bit annoyed with him over the way he treated Debrah Medina. I don't care for the things he has said about Ron Paul in the past. And I think he missed not only a really good oportunity in his interview with Massa, he missed the point of it. I am emailing him today and may even try to get a call in to his radio show on it. I hope has thought about it over the course of the night. It was anything but a waste of time. It was a refreshing thing to see. I have always known what a scum sucking piece of rancid filth Rahm Emanual was and this man (massa) had the back bone to come out and put a million watt spot light onthat and the corruption in congress and the white house. Maybe he didn;t do a bullet list of everything that is going on, but it was still informative none the less.
I was on the fence with this whole debacle involving the represenative...until this interview. I have to say, I think I believe him and would very much like to shake his hand. I wish him well, good health and I hope he is able to carry on with some semblence of a normal life. I also hope he finds it in him somehow to continue to fight this system in some way once he has regrouped.

Excellent point! Beck certainly did miss a perfect opportunity to have a substantive, non-partisan discussion about the problems in Washington and in politics in general. Massa mentioned campaign finance reform and said that's where we have to start to fix the problems, something I've been saying forever, but Beck wanted no part of that, he wanted a White House and Democrat bashing hour and would be happy with nothing less. He made it all about him instead of Massa. Former Representative Massa said he broke his own vows, or something to that effect, and Beck blew that off totally.

As you said, Beck could have turned it into a good discussion from the perspective of someone who had come to Washington with the best of intentions and the highest of hopes and had learned some hard lessons, including some about himself. They could have spent the hour talking about what everyone from both parties could and should do to "fix" what's broken in our government. Instead, we got Beck hammering at Massa to PLEASE give him some dirt about the Administration!

Beck's certainly not a "real" journalist, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone more certain of that than Beck himself.

I sat through the annoying hour of television yesterday and I thought it was painfully boring and awfully confusing.

For Beck, personally, his entire schtick these days is about corrupt politics and progressives seeping into both political parties. So, really, it's no surprise at all at how the interview turned out.

Beck wanted to know where the bodies were buried, this guy doesn't know.

And I really don't see how wanting to expose that is nearsighted in the least. What else was Glenn supposed to talk about with the guy? Having Massa clue Beck in on the corruption taking place was the only reason Beck reached out to him in the first place.

I honestly don't see how it's bad for America, either. What could he and Massa have talked about that would be "good" for America? How to get healthcare passed now that Massa is no longer a Congressman?

This is what you get with Beck. He's a talking head, not a journalist. And if one's bad for America, then you have to line up every single Beck-like bloviator out there and label them the same, whether they're on the right, left, on the very fringes or in the middle.

I love the Glenn Beck show. I've learned more about history and my country than I ever did in school, and I went to school when they really taught history that hadn't been changed to be politically correct.

I was disappointed with the interview. Mr. Beck kept trying to get Massa to name names and clarigy events but Massa would have none of it. While I believe that Rahm Emanuel is capable of doing the things Massa accused him of, I doubt that he did them in this case because Massa proved himself a witness that is not credible.

I think if more people listened to Glenn Beck we would have a better country, with the people once again in control instead of politicians and special interests.

Glenn Beck doesn't possess interviewing skills, but that doesn't support the conclusion that he is bad for America. The interview went badly, in that Glenn wasn't able to draw Massa out more or get more information. Massa was to blame for that partly, too, because he wanted to exonerate himself. However, Massa is the one who said he was the target of a conspiracy, so it was up to him to give out the details that proved it.

Beck wanted details of dirty dealings and threats, to expose corruption and the hostile environment. It was clear that Massa doesn't like Rahm Emanuel and is perfectly willing to give him up to the press as a crazed, power-mad, dictator but Massa is also a liberal Democrat who isn't interested in bringing down the administration. I don't think he would put the whole party or the president in jeopardy that way.

No, Beck isn't bad for America because he doesn't do a great interview or because he expected more than he got. Certainly Massa has said in public that he was being pushed out because of his vote on health care, and then he failed to substantiate it fully. It's not Beck's fault that he believed the guy was telling the truth and gave him an opportunity to back up his allegations.

The interview didn't go well. We didn't learn what we thought we'd learn. We don't even know if there is more to learn. That show wasn't what Beck wanted, and it disappointed. But Beck isn't bad for America simply because he did a poor interview. I know he wanted the guy to give him information on widespread corruption in the White House and Congress, but even thinking that such information exists isn't bad for America. We need people willing to explore those possibilities, and we need to support those who investigate the stories behind the sound bytes.

Glenn Beck is the most brainwashing, ignorant, moron I possibly have every seen. Typical of Fox News biased news. They aren't even a news channel. Just biased-agenda trying to recruit. It is a shame. Glenn Beck is truly terrible for America with his lies and false agendas.

I saw it...I thought that they hit on it too much too... it did need to be talked about. Do you know that much about Rahm Emanual? He is known for odd, even scarey behavior. Not just now...but also when he was with the Clinton Admin. He is NOWHERE near a professional...he acts more like a mob thug enforcer. Why he is in washington I will never know. People do need to speak out more about his behavior..so that he either cleans up his act...or Obama kicks him out.

Although I do watch Beck, I decided not to watch yesterday. My daughter watches with me and I believed things would be said I rather she didn't hear. We watched Old Dogs instead.

I watch Beck just about every night. I agree with him on most things and have learned a lot about our constitution, the founding fathers, etc. Beck doesn't claim to be a journalist, his is an opinion show. So if you don't like his opinions, then don't watch it. If you want to watch news/jounalism, watch one of the other shows on Fox (not O'Reilly, his is an opinion show, too) or where ever you get your news.

As for the Massa interview, I was actually a little perturbed with Beck. I know he was searching for a "smoking gun", but it was obvious Massa wasn't going to name names. But I still got something out of the interview, even though Beck announced at the end of the show, he was sorry he wasted our time. If the interview was wasting my time, I would have watched something else.
