When I donate to a cause I do it because I beleive in what they are doing. i would not give blindly to any person or organization. For the first time I have started to give money to specific Political Candidates who support lower taxes, reduced government spending and to reduce the size of government.

Not I. I would never give money to a political party. There are too many other charities that I consider worthy. Frankly with all the fat cats that both parties seem to have, I doubt that they miss getting a campaign contribution from me anyway.

I sure agree and I'm sure the DNC has done similar thing with their donations. they just weren't dumb enough to claim it on their list of expenses...lol! I guess it just goes to show that they'll do just about anything to lure their wealthy potential contributors to open up their wallets a bit wider. I think things like this only serve to help make my case for a complete overhaul of campaign financing. I think big money should be taken out of political campaigns as close to completely as possible.

I don't know why anyone gives to parties themselves. I started a thread about that a while back. It's just stupid. Unless you're one of those people dumb enough to support EVERYTHING that anyone in your party does, then you shouldn't be donating to a party. I remember people whining over the money spent on Sarah Palin's clothes by the RNC saying "How do people feel about their donations going to this?" I say if they're dumb enough to give to the party, they just have to accept the consequences.
Granted, I have no problem with people giving to a politician they trust and have faith in, but certainly not the RNC or DNC. They're guaranteed to disappoint you.

Let's be fair, the DNC does the same thing. I am sure there are donors that don't like what the DNC is spending on.

Can't disagree there. Maybe not to the same nightclubs....
