Back When I Knew It All  

You just wrote what i was going to say. I just loaned out &00 to one friend and 300 to my boyfriend. I think over all I'll lose both of them before I get my money back. it took m 40 years to learn not to trust people with my cash.

As we grow there are always things we learn that we thought in youth we already knew. However, because of the mistrust of some, do not let it make you distrustful. Sometimes what we suffer from others are a result of our own nativity.

There is more to money lending than just trust. Others may be well-intentioned but not necessarily in a position to fulfill an obligation like repaying monies. As we mature we learn to think carefully about certain things we do. For example, other than when a person is in need of necessities such as food, I am not apt to loan money. I ask myself why are they in need of borrowing in the first place. Most times it indicates either a not so good work ethic, a dependency on others or a lack of knowledge concerning momey management. All three of these factors indicate to me that it would be wise not to loan money in this case.

As you say, we grow and learn wisdom. However, if that wisdom causes us to distrust and feel negative toward others we are still needing to learn much. I know it took me a long time to realize (I'm am 64) but finally I am at a place in my life where I have come to the understanding that much of what others do to me are a result of my foolishness. Now that I choose to make wiser decisions, I rarely get hurt by others and my ability to react with others in a happy, positive and agreeable with others I meet has improved immensely. But all that comes with age I think, or I was a slow learner...LOL

I thought having kids would be really cool! That it would make me more popular. I also thought that having a lot of family and friends, that I'd have tons of help with my kids. So here I sit with 5 kids, no friends, no family, and no help... stressed out to the point I want to pull my hair out! LOL

I thought i knew everything about music production. I was making my own compositions when i saw this 'making of' video from a certain band and turned out it was more complicated than how i thought it'd be. They mix the audios with effects to fill in the empty space in the surround sound so if the sound system is switched to a surround sound setting, the music will not sound somewhat monoaural.

Hmmmm. Back then I thought I was the biggest misfit in the world (serious self esteem problem, I think). I thought I was alone and that no one could ever possibly love me . . . I didn't have a lot of confidence with many issues. Somehow I blossomed "late" and something got zapped into me . . . I realized everyone was a weirdo in their own right - hee hee. I finally learned how to live from the inside out instead of the outside in . . . I did find true love . . . and I learned to love "me".

When we are young we think we know everything there is to know about life. As we grow older we find that this was not always true. We go through our fair share of trial and triumph before we can truly say we knew it all. Then when we are aware, did we learn from the experience?

hi dorannmwin when I was in my early twenties I thought I also knew everything and that my parents were hopelessly old fashioned but when I got married and had my own children I was surprised at how up to date mymom was and how I had not really known much until I started raising a family of my own.then I realized just how smart my mom really was and when I was fifty I understood just what my dad really felt when his arthritis flared up and he could hardly move.ouch ouch ouch.So we realize finally how little we really know and how much we do need to learn..

Great question. Boy, talk about the memories that have erupted. I would have to say it has to be guys. When I was in High School, I have to admit, I thought I could tell what a guy wanted from a girlfriend, usually that meant, not me. I never considered myself pretty and for some reason, I always went for the "nice guys" that many considered to be nerds in my day.

But alas, now that I have been married 19 years (as of yesterday) I still am confused as to what guys want. My own husband is even a puzzle to me today. Although, I feel I might have him figured out a little more.

Secondly, like you I was quite trusting in people. I thought if I were nice to them, there would be equality in there some where. Boy, was I wrong. I miss those great red high heals, or that Madonna tape I once had and loaned out.

We really have not enough things to know. We think we have grown enough but not. Isn't it? I've been into some situations where I think I'm more knowledgeable on some things than others but to my mistake. It's embarrassing sometimes but it's a way for us to learn more than what we already know.
