Ten Dollor Watermelon  

Good morning Elic,thanks for your response, I can nearly always get a watermelon in my fridge since i'm the only one who is here. What i do after i cut one I take it all out if the rine & put it in a tupperware bowl & it doesn't take up so much room. I LOVE THEM.

my roomie does that, or buys it that way, but I find that it loses flavor that way - that's just me tho...

I really like them the best when they are first cut but i don't waste food so that's the way i do to.

I try to leave them in the rind so they don't drain as bad - mom used to do that

I buy a half a watermelon or even a quarter. Halves are sold almost everywhere. I ask for the quarter. Usually the fruit guy will say yes right away, sometimes I have to convince him. I just say, well if I want a quarter, surely someone else will also. I'm not the only person who shops for one. They do it for me.

i AGREE THAT IS WAAAAAAY TOO MUCH. i WISH THEY WERE IN SEASON HERE, I LOVE THEM. One slice at the grocery was $3 yesterday. I don't think i ever paid $3 for onr last year more like $5. Honegrown fruit sounds so good but it will be quite awhile before we have any here. Thanks for your response.Hope u have a nice day.

I thought it was outrageous in price & can't believe anyone would pay that for one. They would have to have more money than me to do it, lol. I don't think i'd pay that if i had alot of money.It's a shame they can get the high dollor they do for things at the grocery. I bet if people would boycott some things the prices might go down but people want stick together & do that. Tomatoes are another one of my faves & they are sky high here to. Thanks for your response. I would love to have a good piece of cold watermelon but i want pay that for one. Hopefully when the farmer's market starts here later on they will habe a better price.

I was wondering if you had access to a Farmer's Market. The prices usually are more reasonable.

Yes, we have a good farmer's market & everything there is locally grown. They want let any vendor sell unless it's grown in the vacinity. Of course it doesn't last but a few months but i really love going.I'll be glad when it starts. Happy thursday.

Good morning, They should have gold in them for that price, lol. I saw the same thing at wendy's here. Met a friend for lunch & i was getting a salad & questioned whether it would have tomatoes on it. It did , about 3 of those little bitty ones. Thanks for your response.
