| | I think sardines are disgusting but I know some people who love them. This is happening more and more, plants and businesses closing down so that we have to get stuff from other countries. It's another plank in our economic coffin. Maybe some entrepreneur will come along and open one if he can find affordable product and labor--but unless we start giving businesses tax cuts instead of taxing them out of business that won't happen. | | | | | | |

| | I'm not overly fond of sardines but occasionally I get the urge to eat some. I have to have the ones packed in mustard and eat them on crackers. It's the only way I'll eat them. I am sad to hear that this company is closing down after being in business for so long. Another American company bites the dust. I just heard recently that a local Virginia company (local to me, I live in Virginia) is folding up and moving overseas. That makes 150 more people out of work. | | | | | | |

| | I have never had sardines. Or anchovies. Those two things stick out in my mind. | | | | | | |

| | I've never even seen them. None of my family have ever eaten them either. None of their family ever ate them, so I guess as a by product, they never have either. Of course, they have seen them before. But I just don't think I've ever been around a place that had them or was serving them. I've seen them in cans in the grocery store, but have not actually seen what they look like. I just saw the cans that contained them. | | | |

| | I know what they look like. I mean I've seen them on TV. When I saw I've never even seen them, I mean I've never seen them in person. I've never been somewhere where they were being served, or kept, or anything. | | | |

| | I am not overly fond of sardines, but what will be the next thing to leave the States? I wonder if as in it seems in Arizona, all politicians will be out-sourced! | | | | | | |

I love sardines and I am really sad. so much has changed just in the last few years, maybe even months. used to be there were a huge su pply of sardines in any grocery store.Laying off people, closing plants, and they keep trying to tell me that the recession is almost over. give my son a job and then I might listen. | | | | | | |

| | I doubt either one of my boys have ever tried them or would. They are definitely hookrd on mcdonalds tho & so is my grandson. That's because basically all he's ever had most of his life is junk food. His mother doesn't cook much & i don't think it's good for them plus it's expensive to eat out all the time. | | | |

| | OMG! You like sardines? OMG! I remember when I used to share a can with my ex. That and crackers. OMG! Oily, salty, rich flavored. Ghee! I'm so sorry to hear the last factory is closing. Ghee, what a shame. Am I being sarcastic enough here?! Will you have to pay out the patoostie now for them to be shipped in? | | | | | | |

| | I'm from Portugal and a lot of sardine factories closed here in the past years. Our atlantic coast has some of the best sardines in the world. I collect paper labels from old sardine cans and make framed pictures out of them. These labels are very nostalgic and have nice artwork. Lets hope sardines stay around for a long time, as long as we don't eat them all. Regards. | | | | | | |

| | that's not good news especially for those workers who are now out of work. i guess it's cheaper to import them than run those factories. true, the imported ones may not have the same quality control as those produced there. you just have to choose the brands that you buy. i have sardines occasionally. just last week i put them on a tortilla with other toppings and i had a quick thin crust pizza. yum . . . | | | | | | |
