Nancy on TV, and not doing it as part of her job

Now I know that politicians get to have a little bit of life outside of the office and I have no issue with this. I do have an issue with our employees (that is what they are remember) working on a TV show, in this case Nancy's visit to Bravo's Top Chef, while they are being paid to be on our clock. I do not agree with them being on Late night shows promoting themselves either. We pay them to keep our country running well and at the moment that is not happening yet they are wasting time tasting food on some reality show. I don't care if she is a Democrat, Republican or an alien from Mars she was voted in to do a job, one she has not done well and there she is test tasting food on National TV instead of doing her job! Our politicians are not doing what we pay them to do yet no one seems to mind. A small business owner who has an employee who has made as many mistakes or gave away that much money would have canned them a long time ago or been considered an idiot for not doing so. Well I guess then America we are the idiots because people like this are still in office.

All politicians do PR things...it's expected and accepted. I'm not a fan of Nancy's but, if she missed an important vote or legislative session in order to be taste testing food...that's one thing. Otherwise, it's not a big deal.

As much as this pains me..... I have to agree with Spall. As long as she isnt missing sessions, which Lord knows she wont, she can waste her time as she sees fit. Also as long as tax payers didnt pay for her travel....

Her own time yes our time no. The show was in D.C. this time so she used her car and driver supplied through us for her use at all times something I also have an issue with, but that's another thing. I also am not sure this is the PR we want, I mean if she was at a rally or doing something to support the people that's one thing but to do a TV reality show that impacts nothing doesn't seem right to me.

Do you think she's the only politician who has done this or the only one who ever will? At least she wasn't on Late Night With David Letterman.

I am in complete agreement with you on this one. I don't care what she does in her spare time but NOT on the taxpayer dime. She really needs to be voted out.
