So, I get in my car to go to church. I pull out onto my street, turn the corner and start toward the highway to go to church.
When out of a driveway backs a little car at a pretty high speed.
I swerve and he stops and we don't hit, but it shakes me up.
He pulls back in, I turn around to make sure he's okay, but then he pulls out, at a more sedate rate and drives off.
I, however, a shaking so bad, I just go back home.
I don't need to be driving shaking like that.
And, now my left arm is hurting from swinging the car around so hard.
What I want to know, since I didn't get to ask the jerk, what do you think he was thinking, pulling out like he was the only one allowed on the roads?
I think I'm going to lay down again for a bit, I'm "all shook up."

What Makes You think He HAD a license? There was a local news item here recently where a guy who had a driving conviction and was banned from driving from Years back was discovered by the cops to be driving around in an unlicensed and uninsured car..THIS time, they took it from him and crushed it...

I'm sure that other driver's only thoughts were where he had to be in a hurry. He might have been chanting, "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date." He gave no thought to the fact th at there might be anybody else on the road.

He was probably not thinking about driving. He might have been mad or in a hurry and just pulled out without thinking about it. I have done that although I try really hard not too. With so many distactions out there these days, I do not see how people keep from having more accidents than they do now.

Maybe it was a K-Mart blue light special?!!?? LOL Seriously, I really do wonder how some of these people pass their driver's license exam. I can't believe the amount of people out their behind the wheel that truly don't know how to drive.

Well, not everyone who has a driver's license are good drivers totally. Some paid their way to getting one, some tried to be a good driver then forgot how to be one in the course of time. Or some people are just selfless that they do not care about other people on the road.

Who knows if he really has a license? I can imagine how you feel. It may take an accident to cure him, or today may have been just the experience he needed to slow him down for awhile.

Probably wasn't thinking at all. Maybe he didn't see you? Or he was busy on the phone. It's surprizing how many people dont look when they pull out of a driveway or parking place.

elicbxn hi wow that would scare anyone. I bet he had had an argument with someone and was in a royal snit, and not even thinking when he backed out and then came too when he saw you. This reminds me of the night when it was just dusk and most people did put on their lights, my friend was taking me to the closest Stater brother's store. We had just pulled up to the stop light and were waiting as cars turned right when this monstrous SUV made a sudden turn just as a fellow walking his bike was right in front of her.She hit him so hard he went up in the air then came down, over his bike. then she stopped her van sticking out into the passing lane to check the boy .he had got up walked to the sidewalk and collapsed there. When we returned a paramedics van was dashing past us,and pulled into a drive way close to the boy who looked badly injured, sprawled on the side walk. we were shook up about that for several days. we wondered if the boy was badly hurt, we knew he was still alive when we came back. But the way that SUV hit him so hard its a wonder he was not killed. She did not have her headlights on and she must not have seen him at all. I think she was mostly to blame as motorists are supposed to wait for people in the walk way to get past their turn point and she did not so I hink she did not see him. He probably should have had on a reflective vest of some sort at least an
d she should not have speeded up to make a turn on one busy pedestrian walk way.

Hey Elic~ I'm sorry that you had this terrible experience today.
And especially since you were on your way to church no less!
And then this guy pulls off without even a second glance to see
if you're alright! It just never ceases to amaze me how people
just don't think or care about anyone else but themselves! I
hope that you are feeling better by now.

I’ve been through incidents like that and it is scary because although it may be a near miss you can’t help but imagine what could have happened! It’s darn frightening! I’m not surprised you were shaking! As to why the guy pulled out without looking only he knows; he could have been not thinking because of things on his mind or just a bad driver! Everyone makes mistakes and it is good to be forgiven but when someone gives you a scare like that on the road clemency is a lot harder to put into practice!

I would imagine so and not concentrating is not something we can afford to do while driving!

Glad to hear that you are OK.
Laying down and taking a breather was probably the best idea.
The thing with driving is we not only need to pay attention to what we are doing...we need to pay attention to what others are doing as well.
There are lots of idiots out there.
Be careful and be safe in the days ahead.

Sometimes, people get distracted when they are driving. Luckily, when I was last got distracted, I was just coming off a non-busy parking lot. I was trying to back off, and I kept hitting a concrete garbage can. Only when I got out, and saw the damage in my car did I become more aware.
I try to never get distracted anymore when driving.

The sad thing is that some day he's going to learn the hard way, and it may be at the expense of his, or someone rlse's life.

I rather think he might have received his license in Hell. He kept you out of Church, didn't he?

There are so many careless drivers out there! Some think they own the road! I see alot of people pulling out in front of people, including me! Some are on their cell phones and some just seem to be in a darn hurry! It is like when people get their license,at least some people, everythin gthey learnt goes ou the window! Sounds like that happen to the person that almost hit you! Glad you are OK!

You have been having a bad time lately. He might have been on the phone, or just not concentrating on driving at all. He may have been mad about something and was taking it out on his car, and everyone on the roads.
My grandfather used to feel everyone should get out of his way because he was old.

Wow I hope you feel better and glad it was not a worse situation. As people like this are truly ignorant and do not take into account that maybe they will hurt themselves, but more so that my child could be crossing the street and run my child over.
People like this have no business on the road, I hope some day they do not get the experience that you did as maybe perhaps this will make them think twice, but I suppose I am hoping for too much.
