Why Many Times Even When You Try and Pray Does Health Not Improve?

Lately this is truly the way I am feeling. It seems the more sometimes that I Pray and trust god and try doing the things I need to be doing as in Eating right, keeping my Blood sugar levels more under control, etc. that I continue to have more issues with my leg and the wound not wanting to heal like it should. I know a lot of it could be the medications that I take for Fybromyalga having a lot to do with everything, but it still is quite frustrating. The wound center I am going to is really not being of any help for any explanations on all of this as well. They just continue to do what I think is not working and saying it is my fault my leg is at a standstill. I am getting quite frustrated and wish there was an easier solution. Many prayers are being said daily and I truly feel God is still in control, but wish this leg would heal. Maybe somehow there can be a Christmas or New Years miracle? But I am going to the Wound center tomorrow again, so a miracle needs to happen quick. ~~TINA~~

My mother had the same symptoms as you. The diet greatly affect the blood sugar. If the blood sugar can be scaled so your leg will be fine. Struggling and trying is paramount. Do not wait for the miracles that is not certain. It will actually reduce your belief in God.

Well, what most people seem to think is that most Diabetics are type 2, and bring it on themselves, but due to other factors I am insulin dependant and always will be. Even as my weight has dropped from time to time my insulin intake does not. Then I also have Fibromyalga, etc. that causes excess swelling, etc. that does not seem to help things either. But as everyone knows here, I am a believer, and know God is in control. Even when it seems like it is taking forever one day I will be able to look back on it all and know it was truly worth it.

Tina is a believer. She knows that sometimes God doesn’t answer prayers with miraculous healings. I am praying that God work according to His will in her life so that she may be healed. I believe that Tina knows God well enough that she will continue on with her faith, because she knows who God is in her life.

I would wonder if the wound center doesn't really have any answers as to whether the medications are causing you the problems or if it is something else. They just don't have all the answers. Sometimes it must be very frustrating for you and for the medical foundation.

Personally I think a lot of it is too many Doctors now a days. No one is knowledgeable in everything, and so it it one Doctor for this, another Doctor for this, and another Doctor for this, and so on. So no one is coordinated when it comes to treatment, medications, etc. and seems to really have an answer. It amazes me that even though care is quicker usually than the past, it is a lot more time consuming for sure.

But the scary part is anymore in order to find out all that is wrong and what will help you the Best may take months to get doctors to understand, and then finding out what is Best to help you. It is a scary process, and makes me wonder what it will take for some to wake up before something major happens to them.

One reason we need to be very proactive and do our homework. Not just trust that each and every doctor has half a brain and will treat us right.

Maybe you need to let go of any anger or frustration or blame or arguments. Maybe it's your outlook or attitude that need to heal before your wound. Maybe you have to let go of your expectations of God healing you and see what there is that you can do for God. Peace be with you friend.

Well no I think sometimes we forget and try to rush God and not let God be God, and let things happen in his time. I know it would be nice if I could wake up one day and everything would be better, but I also think seriously we go thru these trials in our life to learn to Trust god more and know he is in control.

Hi Tina! Its been a long time since we've talked, and I am dismayed that you are still dealing with that leg wound. I know from your other discussion that you are probably sick of all the advice that you have gotten about your case, but as long as you've been having problems with that wound, I think you need to get a few more suggestions about it from other doctors. I know that I'm not a medical professional, but it seems there has to be some sort of balance between your diabetic diet, the fibromyalgia medication, and that wound healing up. Maybe you should try another wound center or see if your primary care physician can give you a referral to a specialist? I am still praying for your health, and hope that things will get better for you soon.

Thanks for the Well wishes my friend. Yes it has been a long journey with everything going on for me, and it seems like many things that would often seem to help someone else is taking a while for me. It is not the Doctors fault, and unless I was rich and could pay for other alternatives things just need to continue to take their course. I know God is in control, and eventually someday soon Good things will happen.

If you are on a lot of medications, it could interfere with healing. Are you getting all the nutrition that might be needed? I wonder if there is some natural healing method that could be used instead of depending on medical interventions only. Not to say that prayer won't help, but sometimes it is not enough. I hope you got your miracle at some point before I saw this because it is not a good thing to have open sores for that long!

Personally you would think that, and would think a Wound Care center would be a little more knowledgeable and wanting to help it heal instead of constantly always blaming me for it never healing, as well as my sugars, etc. Eventually maybe they will get their heads on a little straighter and find a solution before I have to go elsewhere for a second or third opinion on it all as well.

I don't think it's exclusive to health. Even financial concerns are the same way too. Even though you try and pray your hardest, it's at a standstill. Sometimes it even gets worse. Maybe it would take other people (even strangers) praying for you, to help make it improve. So, even though I am a few days late, I will send prayers your way!

My friend even though it has been a while since I started this discussion there are still many days, today especially being one of them that I am feeling this way. It sometimes it a huge struggle to get people to see I am not faking it, and it is beyond my control. But I know many are praying and it is in God's hands and one day this will all be over.

Hi Tina, I am sorry to hear of your plight. I have found that putting my awareness and focus where pain is, helps me to transcend it. After my heart attack 5 years ago, I was put on statins and other medication that caused muscle pain. As you may already know I am a Zen practitioner and practice daily meditation. The aim of the meditation is total focus and stilling the mind in the present moment, which in itself is very good. When it comes to pain, I focus strongly ino the core of the painful area and keep opening myself up more and more to what is going on there. At first it seems to get more intense, but then recedes. In my experience, I believe that awareness enhances our experience of transcending pain and may even enhance the healing process. Whilst it is not a cure, it has enabled me to quit using pain-killers that were getting less and less effective. It is not easy, but in my mind, I thought... well nothing else has helped me feel more comfortable, and fighting pain is only making things worse, so I may as weel totally accept it. I thought I would share that with you as it may help you manage your pain better with your mind.. I hope things improve for you soon. _Derek

Personally I can relate with what you are saying, because in reality we are the ones who are in control of how we feel each day, and for me as a Christian when I can meditate in Prayer it does seem to help any situation. The problem is when I am trying to get this wound healed and it seems like I am keeping positive until they start doing things I feel are not helping me and then I become stressed and wonder when this will ever end so I can move forward.

We'll all get together and continue to say more prayers that there is resolution to the wound problem. I know how frustrating it must be! I haven't been in that type of situation with the exception of being in pain most of the time with my leg and the arthritis....it certainly does get old!

That is for sure. It does get old, especially when you seem to think everything is looking better, and then the next thing you know it all looks as if it is going backwards again, or your thinking is so much different than the doctors at hand. It truly makes you wonder what the real situation is, and how honestly you can stay focused and remember the Best is at hand.

Perhaps you are putting too much energy into thinking and praying about your leg. That worry, that negative energy will surely delay your healing. Rather than worrying about it, do what you know you should do to care for it and put it out of your mind as much as possible. Pray not for yourself but concentrate on what others need and pray for them. Thank God for all the wonderful people in your life and all your blessings--your warm home, loving husband, enough to eat, the talents He has given you. When you do think of your illness, spent a couple of minutes several times a day visualizing your leg as healed. Replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. I guarantee it won't hurt and it will probably speed your healing.

Well, part of it was feeling like I was not being heard, and they were not sure where to go from here. I know that many times it has taken me standing up and being proactive and requesting certain things or asking about certain things that has made a difference. I think sometimes they just want to do things their way and hope that nothing or no one stands in their way.

Prayers are always answered, it's the answers we have trouble with. You need to find out what your situation is telling you. If it were me I would take my body off all medications, these may treat one symption often poison the rest. Your poor body is trying so hard to tell you what it needs and you can't seem to hear it. This is not at all unusual, especially dealing with Western Medicine. My daughter and I have been swept into this cycle for many years and what finally helped was Chinese medicine, a holistic diet and yoga. I have also used tapping for painful conditions, to really help it must be used often and regularly. I pray the you will find some answers in the new year. Blessings

Well, the main issue is that anymore you need to see a Doctor who specializes in your condition. There is not the type out there anymore who knows how to treat a lot of different things, so unless they are well versed everything they try to do either the medications interact with another one, or the medications they try to give you end up allergic too, etc. I do know of a Chiropractor who specializes in working with Fibro patients, but my wound would have to be healed first before he could decide if he could help me or not. His methods are natural not medications which would probably be a BIG help for me.

Health has to do with doctors. Maybe you should see if you can seek another opinion. I understand your frustration, because there is also so much physical pain that is so hard to bear. But do remember the words of Jesus: "Thy will be done". We can pray with faith, but we don´t know the answers.

That is for sure. We can Pray with Faith, but need to remember it is always God's will not ours, and everything does happen for a reason. I am still curious to see what the outcome will be the next time I see a Doctor at the Wound Healing Center and be making more decisions from there.

I cannot say that I understand your particular situation because I am not the one living it! But I do understand the questions from my point of view. REgretfully, I have no answers! lol! But I have had tons of questions like yours when I think of my son and the situation I deal with daily. He is slowly progressing,, but it is very slow. i am learning that faith has lesst to do with getting the answers we want and more to do with standing when trials are apparent. Hope you get better soon, and I hope you get good news from the wound center.

Thanks for your comments my friend, and personally I wonder sometimes with your Son how you are able to keep Strong as well. I do know that many times God tends to put us in trials we may not always understand, and wish we could get out of for sure. I know many times it is not always easy for sure. Just keeping strong and excercising our Faith surely does help us along the way.

Hi Tina, Why do they say it is your fault that your wounds are not healing? What is it that they say you either are or aren’t doing right? There has got to be some rationale for what they are saying to you. Are you overweight? Are they saying it is your weight doing this? The thing about diabetes, as you know, it is very hard to lose weight when you are insulin resistant. You can’t get the nutrients to the cells and the cells die. It’s true that weight loss can and does stop the stasis ulcers… You don’t look overweight to me, in your picture… so I’m just asking. But here, you have something else to think about, that you have already mentioned. The medications. Some of your meds may be keeping your blood sugar high or keeping you insulin resistant. All I know is to keep praying. God knows all about this. God doesn’t always intervene… who knows why? I don’t. I will continue to pray. I had put you on my friend’s prayer list who is a minister. I will continue to ask her to pray for you also. I think your stress level might have something to do with all this too. You are still stressed out on the job? I hope that is going better lately.

Well, I am sure all of these factors do not help in the overall picture. I know the meds I take for the Fibromyalga cause more swelling and can cause my Blood Pressure and the Sugar levels to be higher as well. Just wish overall we could go back to the day when one Doctor knew how to treat everything instead of having to see all kinds of different doctors for all the different things, and no one ever working together.

My doctor I was seeing was thinking the same thing. I tried reducing the amount of the neurontin and actually had a lot more pain again to where I am not faithfully having to take it as prescribed. Yes, it could be part of the additional swelling but they think I might have some sort of infection going on somewhere now that is causing some of the issues as well.

My suggestion is go see another specialist for your leg. Just tell your doctor this. Maybe he will reconsider and help you more! I also will suggest you try getting on social security. There are doctors out there that will do it! With your health problems I still think it is the way to go! I am sure that is what God is trying to tell you!

Well, I am now actually Happy with the results and everything, as they switched me to a different doctor the last 3 times I have gone there. He was very nice, and willing to listen. Since the wound is progressing nicely in going down in size, they are actually going to refer me to a different doctor next week, and are hoping I am within weeks of being healed. Sometimes I think being proactive is what it takes. As for Disability... it would be nice, but with my Business and other things, it would take too long to get Medical etc. and it is not that Good, so continuing to believe and trust God for wonderful things for 2012 and beyond.
