If you support Obama in the Keystone BS, then this is as much your fault as it is his! You're insanity is costing jobs and making us pay more than we need to be at the pump! You can whine all you want about the high price of gas at the pump, but look in the mirror before you do, because you're one of the idiots causing the high prices! http://finance.yahoo.com/news/gas-pump-prices-record-high-223313137.html

OK, I read the article you linked to. I must be missing something. Where does it refer to the Keystone pipeline?

The reason the gas prices are going so high is political turmoil in the middle east. Newsflash, the US only buys about 5-10% of our oil from the middle east. Most of the oil we import comes from Canada. If we increase our oil purchases from Canada, we can decrease the oil from the middle east. That's where it comes into play.

I am a bit curious as to how much this would impact the pump price of fuel. Optimistic forecasts put this production at 4.9 million barrels per year in 2020. World oil production is about 81 million barrels per year. Can this small amount of production really have much impact on pump prices?

Anything we don't have to buy from the volital middle east helps. In pump prices, jobs, and freedom.

I read the article you linked and I cocluded oil makes people retarded? 1 This article didn't mention the Keystone Pipeline which wouldn't have been built in time to effect summer prices had it been approved. 2 All the article really shows is how we are being exorted at the pumps again. Supply is up demand is down and prices are high. Really? Is everyone retarded. Did you forget 2010 when prices kept going up because oil companies cried wolf every time a wave hit a rig? They're just using the crap with the strait of hormuz which won't happen, to jack up prices because it could one day cause a shortage. The only reason prices are going up is because of regulatory bs and greed. It's the same bunch of lies we heard 2 years ago. I guarantee when gas hits $4/gal oil companies will once again be turning record profits.

I am Canadian and the safety precautions on the Keystone pipeline are excellent. Maybe other countries are sort of careless, but we are not. As for the Nebraskan alternate route, what makes you think that Obama will approve it if he is re-elected? The thing is that he wants higher oil and gas prices. He is hand in hand with tHe EPA . I do not want the oil to go overseas to China who have bad envrriomental rules and the danger of pollution is higher there. Besides I really do not like communism triumphing over capatalism or they getting ahead of us. Hmm I do wonder if that was Obama's idea all along. Make China the superpower.

I have to agree with you. That pipeline would do wonders for our troubled economy and job market. Plus it would put us a long way, in my opinion at least, to energy independence which we desperately need. But on the other hand, Obama would rather that the oil and gas prices stay sky high. He does not want more oil used as fuel, he wants to keep pushing for "green technology" and investing in companies like Solendra (sp?) for that! Of course, he does not want to see or hear about where that got us so far! Wake up Dems, we need this pipeline AND the oil it will provide!

He also needed to funnel money to his buddy Warren Buffett... the guy whose trains keep the oil moving now.

How would it make us oil indenpendent, we would just be buying from another source. We need to find ways to use other sources than oil to make this Earth a better place to live. And also when the refine this dirty oil, what are they going to do with the residue that is left and there will be tons and tons of it each day.
