When you go shopping with your kid, would you leave him/her alone?

As you've seen in the attached photo, this kid is cruing because of being left alone on a motorbike while her mom's shopping else where not far from the kid.
Would you leave him alone in the market while you are busy shopping. Or would you take him/her with you?

I had learned from the experience of others, I make it a habit that my son stays at my side. I don't want to lose him in my line of vision. There was a time that I panicked when I was so busy at other stuff. There are numerous reports of Kidnapping here in our place because of internal organs smuggling.

Often times, I overheard over the loudspeaker some announcements on a missing kid. The kid probably got detached from his mom's hand.

I don't think it's allowed over here to leave your kid behind on a motorbike, bike or in your are. Everybody over here is always dragging his/her kids around with them, which makes shopping sometimes terrible and very exhausting. We also give our kids a hand. They are not allowed to walk around free (like you see in many other coutnries). We have too much pedofiles over here as well. Also I think many people are afraid to what others will say if you leave you kid behind since you can call child care anomynous and many people do so even in cases that have nothing to do with child abuse. It's a great way to make someone's life miserable.

Yes, I know in The Netherland the rule is very strict, and all regulations are adhered to. If for instance a kid is missing in the mall, what should a mother do to find her kid? Report it to the police on guard?

It depends on the parents. If i have my own kid, i would definitely bring them along to wherever i go. It's not safe to leave them alone because if anything happens, it would be too late for regret. What's more, kids are too young to look after themselves and nobody is obliged to keep an eye on our kids when we are shopping. If my kid were to get into accident, snatched away, i can only blame myself for it. Rather than giving a chance for such happenings, i would keep my kid close to me at all times.

Definitely not a young child like that. Bad things could happen and as a parent I'm just not ready to take those kind of risks with my children. Most of my kids now are older and they are quite alright on their own while I shop.

Yes. The kid is too young to be left alone like that. What a careless mother. If something bad had cropped up, the mother would be terribly sorry.

I suppose the surroundings force some parents to do whatever is needed to cope. Things that would be unlawful or regarded as child endangerment here, seems to be normal in some countries. Children are at risk as they are forced to be independent before their age. Btw, I can't see the photo you mentioned.

No..never...I never leave my kid alone...we both, me and my hubby are very very caring for our child....Just want to share something...
I have a friend...she has 2 kids, ages 8 and 4...when they go to mall, she used to give her cell to the kids and kids would roam in the toys section!!my friend and her husband goes to do their shopping...I always tell her NOT to do this...but she is very careless...she thinks the kids have cell phone, if anything happens they can call...sounds strange to me...
