I worked all day, had a meeting after school, and then we shopped two stores and got some gasoline in the van.
I am not dressed yet, and I should be heading out the door, into the fog soon.
Today we will swim.
I am not really...

Here in the eastern US, and by eastern I mean everywhere east of the Rockies, the news seems to be all about the heatwave.
This got me to thinking about songs about heat. The first that came to mind was the song, "When you're...

Holy moly the temperature today went up to 90 and it definitely felt that way! We still don't have an ac so we had to rely on box fans to keep us cool. Our electric bill is gonna be crazy this month. This heat is gonna be insane...

I just had to walk a few block away and it was just way too much for me to handle and it isn't even officially summer yet. I can already tell this summer will be an indoors summer for me. My son was walking with me and because he...

The sun is shining like the beauty that it is, and I am excited. It is only 22F or about (minus)6C, but there is no wind and there is glorious sunshine. The birds and I are happy.
I am also excited as we finally got a call for an...

I wanted to use up some Rice Krispies and some marshmallows, and some marshmallow creme.

Here I am sweating myself into a puddle. Why you might ask. Our air conditioner stopped working last night.
Good grief.
So why don't we go to the other house? Now, that's a very good question. We go over to Inverness to stay...

Yesterday's snowfall was a record 9.2 inches, the most we've gotten at one time this year and it happened in spring.
You can see the drift in front of the window and between my car and the one beside it. It was fun getting the...

I love chocolate and sugar in general, however I only eat it, when I am drinking a cup of tea. You should try it: a hot cup of tea or coffee and a bite of chocolate and let it melt in your mouth as you drink your tea/coffee. Yum!...

It was supposed to cool down this weekend. It looks like that's not going to happen. I just saw that it's going to reach 106 F here today (about 41 C, if my math brain is working right). So much for hiking or long cycling...

Do you remember the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz? Well, I am stating to fell like she did when Dorothy threw that pail of water on her. I feel like I am starting to melt.
My husband tried turning on the air...

I slept in late this morning. It was quarter of nine by the time I rolled out of bed. Then I remembered I forgot to turn the clocks ahead. It was really quarter of ten.
My missus came in and told me it was snowing outside. Sure...

We woke up to abundant sunshine here in eastern NC this morning, but the temperatures were only in the teens (around -9(C)).
You can probably tell from the picture, but the road in front of our house is a ribbon of ice this...

Yesterday we had snow, at least four inches is my guess. However, snow and gray skies have given way to blue skies and melted snow, as you can see in the picture above.
I just looked out to see what kind of day we were going to...

Okay the snow we got a week ago is going through some serious meltdown. I hope it stops before it's all gone. It would really be great to get another large snowfall. Time to wear my snowflake necklace again...
