Patsie Hatley is Deceased @Hatley (163749) • Garden Grove, California 14 Oct 08

hi mylotters I know probably all of us had different types of discipline when we were kids. My mom would give us this horrible Face when we had done something wrong. It was worse for us than being spanked. That look said...

Has a visit from your son ever just made your day?

Patsie Hatley is Deceased @Hatley (163749) • Garden Grove, California 21 Oct 09

I know this is sort of silly but I was feeling blue as I still after 11 months do not really want to be here in this retirement center but I know it was the best thing for my son to do.But I was feeling blue today,maybe...

sderringer Oh my, Hatley....I don't know how to say how much my heart has just gone out to you! To be stuck somewhere that you do not want to be has to be awful but luckily your son does at least visit. There are so many people living in retirement centers or still in...

Does have a nice day really mean anything?

Patsie Hatley is Deceased @Hatley (163749) • Garden Grove, California 4 Oct 09

I was reading a discussion about American English and got to thinking of terms we use constantly to the point that sometimes'they do not seem to mean much, like I love that, or have a nice day. One time our landlady told my son...

you are overdrawn but have a nice day

Heather Echola A modern translation of the book of James in the Bible says something to the effect that you do not say "Have a Nice Day" to someone, unless you are prepared to make it nice for them. Do not say to the homeless man "go your way and be full."

Do You Take Me Seriously?

p1kef1sh @p1kef1sh (45681) 2 Oct 09

From time to time, not too often, I post made up, ridiculous discussions that most people see for what they are. Trivial nonsense. I write about fictional universities undertaking the most ridiculous research; about the ancestral...

p1kef1sh Hello Donna, I haven't seen you for ages. I hope that all is well with you. I sometimes write the most ridiculous tags, although we get told off for that nowadays. Thank you for the encouragement. You are right that it takes energy. Quite a lot of it too.

hdjohnson @hdjohnson (2981) • United States 31 Dec 08
