blue_eyed_belle I read some research that showed that birds can sense them and I have a friend in CA that swears her horses know... so would guess that dogs and cats could as well.

bumblebee03 @bumblebee03 (121) • United States 24 Nov 06

I want a pet turtle but have 3 children ( one is 3ms.) Are they pretty easy to take care of? I want to keep mine in the house. I have two dogs outside.

blue_eyed_belle I'd be concerned about salmonilla, especially since yuo have 3 children.

blue_eyed_belle I don't get the football 'thing' either, and I'm from Texas where unfortunently this sport is almost a religion to some. As far as car racing, I swear I think most people watch it because of the wrecks...

Making your own soap

IoneS57 @IoneS57 (318) • United States 22 Nov 06

One of my hobbies is making soap. I haven;t done it very many times, so all I know are the easiest recipes: glycerin, essential oils for scent and a mold. Melt the glycerin, add oil, pour into mold and set. I gave them as gifts...

blue_eyed_belle I love making goat milk soap, the greatest hint I've come across is to freeze the goats milk and add it frozen, (it helps keep the chemical reaction cooler when you add the lye.) I freeze it in ziplock bags and cut them off. Also, I've read that using a...

How many rabbit do you have at home? Which kind?

I have only one, Netherland dwarf (but I think not a pure dwarf)

blue_eyed_belle We raise Mini Rex rabbits and currently have over 70... a Netherland dwarf is a pure dwarf unless it has been crossed back or missed getting the dwarf gene, (which doesn't happen often) btw :-)

Pets in the Classroom, a Good Thing or Bad?

Pigglies @Pigglies (9329) • United States 22 Nov 06

I put this under the "rabbits" category because rabbits are frequently in classrooms. However, this discussion could apply to all types of pets. I'm personally against pets in the classroom. While there might be some...

blue_eyed_belle I like the idea of the donations to the shelter then having pets brought in. As a teacher I can say that many of my co-workers did not take care of the animals, but then again, many of them did. But, as it is the individual teachers classroom they are...

Potatoes that are mashed

VisionThis @VisionThis (298) • United States 23 Nov 06

If you add milk and butter, then mash them wouldnt that be whipped potatoes?

14 responses •

blue_eyed_belle Technically it's in the preparation, not in the ingredients. "Mashed" potatoes are literally mashed with a potato masher, a kitchen implement that you might find in your Great Grandmothers' kitchen. If you use a blender then technically they are 'whipped',...

Dishwasher or Hand Wash?

MichelleLDevon @MichelleLDevon (828) • United States 29 Oct 06

My ex and I used to argue because, we both hated washing dishes, but he wanted an automatic dishwasher and I said they don't clean dishes good enough - do you wash dishes by hand or use a dishwasher?

69 responses •

blue_eyed_belle I hate emptying the dishwasher worse than I hate washing dishes. For me it's easier to just do them every evening and get it overwith.

blue_eyed_belle I've had 11 procedures on my right arm/hand. Truthfully I think it would have been better if I had made them stop after the first procedure... as far as the pain goes, yes it hurts, but you finally sort of get used to it somehow..
