Most of the notebook battery could last almost 2 years. I want to lengthen its usage life, could you pls give some suggestion to maintain the battery?

mandysdad One of the easist ways is to use the power cord as much as you can. I have also heard that if you remove the battery when using the cord it might last longer since it is not charging when it does not need to.

mandysdad I didn't, but it is still one of my favorite movies. I also think it was one of Tom Hanks best. The funny thing is I remember most of what he is said to have been involved in. IE:The Smiley Face shirt.

I've just been leaving my laptop on my desk after shutting it down every night and its already got a layer of dust on it. Is this harmful? Should I put it back in the bad every night? What is the best option?

mandysdad If you will not be using it for a while,I would say put it in the bag. The dust will not hurt it. Do you cover your tv when you are done watching it? As long as it is not a sandy type of dust like we have here in Fl it should be fine to leave it out.

mandysdad It all depends on what you want to use it for. On the one hand a laptop is nice because you can surf the internet while watching tv. On the other hand desktops are nice because you can upgrade them much easier. So you need to decide what you want to do with...

mandysdad My 'puter' is all of the above for me. I use it to download things, keep in touch with family and friends as well as earn $ on sites like this. I don't know how I could function without it. It went down a little while ago, and I just felt lost.

mandysdad I remember seeing those punch cards. I also remember the removable drives that the had at the college I was attending. The disk platter was the size of a 33 record. Remember those?

mandysdad I am not really worried. I have an antivirus installed and as of yet I have never gotton any type of virus. I am sure it will hit some people,but I am not going to be one of them. I will most likley use my puter on that day.

my laptop has two slots for memory, i want to upgrade i will remove both 512. Should i buy 1 two gig or 2 one gig, and does it even matter? i do not thin ki will upgrade anymore as the laptop will be replaced so there is no need...

mandysdad Right, it does depend on what your computer mainboard is able to handle. Most of the new ones can go up to at least 4 gb of ram. So buying 2 gb sticks might top it out. It also depends on the Operating system. I believe XP will not be able to use all 4gb.

mandysdad Sometimes, but most of the time it is a problem with a program that causes the computer to freeze up. It is mostly on windows computers not to sure about apple. If you have never seen one that means that your computer has not had and major conflicts.

mandysdad I have AVG all in one. It has a firewall and a antivirus and spyware. I scan a least once a week. Most of the time it catches anything before it has a chance to install anything.

mandysdad Sometimes there make be a program that can cause the BSOD(Blue screen of death.) This is one of the problems with computers. If a piece of code causes a problem the computer will crash or lock up or show the BSOD. It is also possible that spyware or a virus...
