Food, Glorious Food

For some reason unknown to me, I decided to take a look at which were my top ten discussions so far, as far as responses from others go. I've only been here since 5 September and written 75 discussions, so it wasn't an overwhelming exercise. And, do you know what, five of the top ten were about food. It seems to be quite a lure for potential readers here. Of the other five, two related to being online and three were about trivial daily events. I found that interesting to give an indication of which discussions, of mine anyway, people tend to be drawn to. It's certainly not an indication of what I mostly write about. But that would be an interesting investigation as well. Do you have any idea of which of your discussions seem to attract most responses? Or don't you care?

I have checked it seems that my posts about weird and unusual facts are those that attracted more views and discussions, more than food.

I am going to attack your profile shortly and look for those "weird and unusual facts". :)

I think these are the topics that appeal to all. If you talk about nuclear science, probably nobody will reply to the discussion. When we use Mylot, we do not want to tax our brain too much. So we tend to take part in discussion threads that do not require much thinking, and we must be familiar with the topics discussed.

The colors are good, mind associates it with good taste, and the pictures are glossy. What more can anybody ask for?

My thousand page thesis 'the history of the paper-clip' will be our biggest attraction for sure - you'll see.

@arthurchappell I'm rather fond of paper clips, ever since I got pulled aside by airport security for having one in my pocket

We have a song "dil toh bachcha hai ji" (meaning my heart is a child). When I look at yummy cakes, and ice creams, I can't deny that it is more interesting than Obama's whatever policy.

I think its when we suggest something that could cause a bit of controversy - but hopefully just debate and not cause a WWIII

I doubt any of my posts would cause controversy, unless its a total cultural misunderstanding

I've only written 10 so my Top 10 is easy to work out! Food certainly does seem to be a popular topic here. Not too many people are ever going to be interested in what I have to say, but that really doesn't matter here as long as folks like your responses.

This post was at the top of my interesting list. That must mean I have tagged a lot of my posts with "food". I guess that's the key to popularity. Pick popular tags.

I am actually too lazy to figure out which of my discussions brings the most comments in the interaction. I have noticed that my MyLot earnings have increased a lot faster this week, do not know the reason though.

It's like the whole community got up and shifted here. Apparently many went from here to B in the first place.

The discussions that attract the most people are the ones that more of the users here have in common. MyLot discussions do quite well. It makes sense that food discussions would do well too, as we all have that in common.

I don't check as to my discussions because I know, it will not be on the top. Most of my discussions have below 10 responses.

You've been busy Val - 75 discussions, I've only done 15. I've not done any two on the same subject, but my best one was when I was asking whether it was best to shut down my computer or not. The rest have been pretty much on a par with each other.

I see Children, tips, interesting information, and MyLot seem to draw the most attention on this site so far.
