If you have never eaten or made popcorn balls, give them a try. You can make them plain or add other ingredients. Mom always put crushed peppermint candy and pecans in her popcorn balls. Mom is no longer here and I miss her special popcorn balls! You could add any kinds of nuts, candies or dried fruits. Just use your imagination! Let the kids help roll them in balls!

You need some syrup or some such stuff to bind them. What do you use?

@alwayssmiling you can use the syrup type with corn syrup, but this one is easy, 1/2 cup popcorn kernels or one 3.5 ounce package of microwave popcorn, one 10 ounce bag marshmallow and 1/4 cup butter. Melt the butter in a large bowl in microwave, add marshmallows, microwave one minute, stir then do another minute. Fold popped popcorn into mixture. Grease hands with butter, make into 2-inch balls! Yummy!

While I never made popcorn balls, my aunt used to make them and I always enjoyed them. Now my teeth seem to be more brittle and I have to stay away from this type of goodie.

I hear you, most of my teeth are false! I hated them when I first got them, they really limit what you can eat! Glad I can still ear! Hehe!??

This sounds a great family activity. I'm afraid I don't like popcorn and I don't have any kids around but it seems a great idea.

I remember making these as a kid. There was an elderly lady in our town that made them for us kids on Halloween. I think I might get the stuff and let my kiddos make some for Christmas.

@Margielynn I think I will get some candy or candy bars to cut up and put in them and some oreos crushed up would be good in them too. Peppermint kisses.... yummy! I am starting to get hungry for some now.

We used to have a neighbor that would make popcorn balls for Halloween as trick or treats. They were so good and we never bypassed that house. Now i'm thinking it would be fun to make these with my grandchildren
