Guest Beds

Whether it is at a home or a hotel, a guest bed just is not the same as your own. I have a queen bed, a full bed with an iron frame and a twin bed with an iron frame for guest beds now. The littlest boy will still sleep in a pack n play, I think. The three year old will have the twin bed, the girls will share the full bed and Mom and Dad get to have the queen. This is the bed we went to find in the dark the other evening. It is the first I have had a guest bed that was that large. I think they will be here by bed time tomorrow. I hope they enjoy their beds.

I've never liked sleeping in any bed other than my own. I also don't travel much unless I can make it a day trip. Oh wow, I'm a day tripper.

I have a hard time sleeping in other people's houses myself. I guess that is why I am trying to make everything as comfortable as possible.

It does sound like your guest beds will be comfy @GardenGerty but we all tend to prefer our own beds no matter how comfortable the accommodations are

We have a mattress topper and our bed is lovely and comfy. You are right there is nothing like your own bed. I expect your visitors will be really comfy.

I am sure your visitors will be happy with their beds. I remember there were times we just sleep on a mattress on the floor when we visited others.

We would sleep as many as twenty one people in my grandmother's two bedroom house. It was fun with the cousins.

Sounds like you are set up for guests. Vin's brother and his wife will be staying tonight and we have a double bed in the main guest room. If the other brother and his wife stay, the other room has two single beds.

Yes, we got a very good bargain with this house. With renovations we are not completely settled in, but there are places to sleep, we will put up a folding table for the kids to eat and there are enough bathrooms. What more could we want.

@GardenGerty when we moved here I gradually fixed up one spare room. First a bed quickly, the sanding, painting, new curtains, etc. It looks really pretty. There is a second spare bedroom with a bed we already had. and months ago I painted the ceiling and that is as far as I got. It's become a junk room piled with stuff as I "organize". I'd love to have guests more often too.

I don't care for hotels or staying at other's homes. I stayed at my son's house a few times but am more comfortable in my own. We camp but that's my other bed. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your family.

It will be busy, but it cannot really be anything else with four kids.

A guest bed usually lacks the right feel.

I remember one time years ago my ex and I stayed with some friends for a weekend. The guest bed that we slept on was horrible. It was like sleeping on a hammock. I hope everyone likes their sleeping arrangements.

You are right that it is just not the same. However, it's much more comforting being in a home with friends or family. Atleast you can get up and get water or a light snack when at those places.

Yes, it is okay to raid the kitchen, except maybe not for the one year old.

The only bed I ever enjoyed (not my own) was at daughters house. She had the most comfortable bed in her guest room and I always wanted to steal it. She said if she gave it to me then I wouldn't stay over anymore LOL

My brother lives in a parsonage, but also has another house with a bedroom for when he retires. I love the bed there.

My daughter and son-in-law are coming from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have four children. One is almost 10, one is almost seven, those two are the girls. Almost four is the oldest boy and almost two is the baby.

I feel comfortable in my own bed. If there are guests, I let my guest sleep on my bed and I sleep with my daughter. But it's very seldom that I have guests at home.
