Got the whole set of Little House on the Prairie for Christmas

I was totally surprised that I got the whole set, as I just asked for the second season, as I already had season 1. Now, I have plenty of dvd's to watch. It is my favorite show throughout the week. I think I have watched some of the episodes more than once, as Hallmark puts the show on Monday-Friday. In fact, I am watching it on Hallmark right now. I also have the full set of the Waltons, so I can watch that as well. It sure does beat some of the shows that they have on tv now a days. Some of them are horrible, and not fit for anyone to watch, adults or kids. I hope that everyone else had a great Christmas, and I hope that your New Year is filled with happiness and blessings.

Both Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons are the two most prolifically shown shows here in England, so there is virtually always the opportunity to watch them.

@marlina I have lost count of the number of times that they have both been shown on various channels here.

I believe they are quite popular in the states as well. I love both of them, and now that have bot sets, I will have lots of watching to do.. It sure beats some of the shows on tv as some are awful. I like good family shows which Little House and the Waltons were.

I certainly will, and I know you will enjoy the Waltons. I have the entire set of that as well as movies too. It was a great show too, and I have enjoyed watching it too.

@rosekiss ...There are a couple series I would like to have the complete set of but don't. I watch them on Netflix or when they come on certain channels.

@celticeagle There are some that I watch on Netflix too, that I don't have any of, and one of them being MacGyver. I wiould like to have the complete set of hs series, as I really liked that show, as he always got himself out of predicatments, ones that I thought would be impossible. I would also like to have I love Lucy too, as I don't have any of those. She was the greatest comedian ever.

I like them too, as I also have the full sedt of them as well. I might just start watching dvd's and not watch tv, as some of the shows on tv, are awful, and shouldn't be on there in the first place.

That is a really nice set. I bought my Dad that for his last Christmas, as he was just coming out of the hospital and he was in bed a lot during that winter and he watched the shows from his bed.

There are even special episodes on it too. I know I will enjoy it immensely. I certanily didn't expect the whole set, but it was my son who saw it at Costco, and decided to get it since I wanted the second season. I do think though, it is much cheaper to buy the whole set, as it is cheaper than buying them individually.

That's wonderful. I agree with you, most of the shows on television right now aren't worth watching. Especially all those sitcoms Hallmark puts out some really good programming and movies. I miss having satellite, but I can't afford it so only have regular TV. They've added some channels to each station giving more variety in the programming. MeTV usually has a good lineup of old shows.

I like watching TVLand too, where there are oldies on there. I like Andy Griffith the best, as it was alwasy clean and for the whole family.

@just4him I liked both, but I liked Andry Griffith better. TVLand has put on now, the show: Facts of Life. I remember that one quite well, and I watch it every night. One that drives me nuts, is Evedryone Loves Raymond. There is really a lot of bad words used therre, so I avoid trying to watch it to much.

@rosekiss Andy Griffith is good, but I could never really get into it. Another that is also good but I had a hard time getting into was Gilligan's Island. I'm just not a sitcom person.

I should watch more than I do, as tv just isn't good anymore. I have all of Gomer Pyle too, and Jim Nabors was hilarious in that. I don't have any of Andy Griffith, and that might be what I will ask for next. I also like 7th Heaven and would want those too. I don't have but a few of Lucy, so that would be great to have that one too. I sure didn't expect to get the whole set of Little House, but glad that I did.

I certainly will, as I have been enjoying it on Hallmark every day, so I know that I will also enjoy the dvd's. I won't get bored that is for sure, as I have plenty to watch, there, and I also have the whole set of the Waltons as well. It might bed a lot better than watching tv, as mot shows aren[t that great, and I won't watch the bad shows.

I stopped watching it when there was an episode in which a young kid was made dumb with some molten stuff.

@vandana7 I will have to watch it later as I want to keep up with the notificatons. I will bookmark it so I can watch it later. I just don't remember anythiing about that. It just doesn't seem right that they would use that in a show that was for families. I still like the sow though, and now that I have the set, I will see wherre that episode is and see if I have seen it already, but I sure don't remember anything like that, as I have only heard good things about the show, all the way arouind.

I don't remember ever making a comment on it on Facebook, although I do have an account there. I usually don't say the same things there that i say here. I might have said something though, as I have family in there, so if I did, it was specifically so they would see it.

I know what you mean. I watch it everyday as it is on Hallmark, and I am watching it now.You just don't see shows likke this much anynore, as what is on tv now, is so violent and not really family oreinted. I love the ones where the whole family can watch them.

It is a great show, and one of the family oreinted ones. There isn't much out there for families anymore, and it so sad too. I do like Andy Griffith too, which is on TVLand here, and I think I have watched every episode more than once. It is another good show that kids can watch too.

I know it will be. It was always my favoirite show by far, and I never ceased to watch it I like Melissa Gilbert too, as she is a good actress as well, and to watch her grow up for little to adulthood was really amazing. I think her and Michael Landon were the best actors on the show.
