It Happened Again! / myLot

I was standing in a long line at a store today. There were two people helping customers and the line was almost out the door. This woman and I started talking. She told me the history of her life complete with a genealogy and pictures of where they came from, including a log cabin, a church, and a weird uncle who built his own town. Her significant other also added some fascinating details. Seems they have some Native American DNA in there somewhere. I really enjoyed talking to them. I hope I see them again sometime but they are just passing through from another state. So, it happened again. Another life history learned in a chance encounter. I still don't know why people tell me stuff. Do people tell you stuff?

Meeting and talking to people just sort of happens. I am sure when she saw me next to her in line that she was not planning to spill the beans.

I had this happen to me a lot when I was younger. My manager at the time said I just looked like "Hi" and the people could not resist.

Those chance meeting are something aren't they. Perhaps you radiate a special invitation and the person doing the telling just feels they want to.

I don't know. There are times when I don't radiate anything and nobody talks to me. It is really strange.

Some of the stories are really interesting. I ought to write a novel using people's stories with fictional characters and setting. Did you know there was a guy who had 35 children? Right here in the US. No harem or multiple marriages.

Yes, sometimes people tell me stuff. Here in Northern California, people tend to keep to themselves, but I enjoy the chance encounters when they occur. Had several when I visited Santa Barbara and LA recently. Do you have a stamp on your forehead that says "Good Listener"?

I haven't looked in the mirror lately. Maybe it is invisible to me. Perhaps, I should use a facial scrub.

I enjoy talking to most people, get a little queasy

with 'organ recitals' though.

Most people don't. It was a cell phone store and she had hers out. She had trouble getting her pictures to show up. My son took the phone and brought up her gallery. Then she just started talking about a group of pictures and telling me the history behind them. All very interesting, really.

Most of the women will tell such things to me in shops, bus stops,markets or at any place where I can spend time for more than 20 minutes.

Yeah, I did. There were two clerks waiting on this big crowd. I think one customer was trying to pull a con and the other had a problem of major proportions. The line just never moved and we left.
