This Time Last Year

I'm so glad last year is behind me. Last year at this time I was in the hospital with double pneumonia for a full week. I also found out I had ulcerative colitis. Not fun, nor the way I found out I had that awful disease - colonoscopy. I'll never do that again in my life.
I went into the hospital on my son's birthday, which was yesterday, and two days after my X passed away. Like I said, I'm glad last year is behind me.
It was the first of two hospital stays last year, the second for a broken leg, which landed me in a nursing home for a month, during which time my mother passed away. So not a good year.
Now this year has been much better. My dad passing is the only down spot this year for me. The rest of the year, my losing my home, finding a new place, is all good. It couldn't be better in fact. I'm looking forward to all the positive changes in my life.
So what's ahead - my birthday for one, next week. My son was born 6 days before my 20th birthday. So my next milestone will take place next Tuesday. I've already determined it will be the beginning of the best time of my life.
Last year was bad. This year is good.

You deserve a nice birthday. How did you break your leg? Glad you are out of last year and have this good one ahead. Still five more months of it too. Not many positive changes in my life. I did pretty much put my life on hold to come and help my daughter.

@just4him ....That's a freaky way to break it. I used to go to a service called 'mutual' when I went to the Mormon church with friends.

I broke it falling off a curb at church. It was dark and I didn't see there was a curb as I headed for the parking lot after the first night of AWANA last year. It's a youth group for children 3 years to 6th grade. Then they have another group for high schoolers.

You certainly did have an awful year last year.Yes, I am in a good place for me.Whatever else I choose to do this year, it is good.

my life is much better this year.last year was still fall out from social security wrongly t taking away my ssi as they claimed I was
overpaid.so had hearing '"Feb of last year the judge overturned their ruling I had my SSI check back and now just two months ago social security gave me my back pay of two thousand
dollars and I had to spend it in two months which I did.

I'm glad this year is going better for you than last year. For me, we're the opposite...last year was good and now this year has been difficult with my daughter & her family moving in and now my mom in the rehab facility for her physical therapy. Of course I enjoy having my daughter, son in law and grandkids here all the time so it helps take the burden off me and keep me company

There is a plus side to all your bad fortune. I hope your mom will be coming home soon. Having someone to talk to is a good thing.

This year has been a good one for us. Last year wasn't bad, but the year before that was horrible ... my husband had a heart attack and one of our daughters barely survived a brain aneurysm that year. Glad that year is behind me.
