Looks like sometime in November, possibly December, myLot will be reaching 3 million discussions posted since May of 2006. That's a LOT of talking. Of course, not all those have made it through all the years...many have been deleted...but still, that a LOT. To give you an idea, it works out to an average of over 800 discussions per day. Which also gives you an idea of how much slower it is now than it was in the golden days of yore. But, with time, it may some day once again reach that many posted each day. And then I probably won't have time to keep up.

Yes, that is a lot. I went through my following list and there are so many that aren't active. I wonder how many others there are.

There are over a million registered accounts, so there is a ton of people that aren't here for whatever reasons.

Currently the average is just under 400 discussions per day, so we are well down on the overall average. I estimate that approximately 10% of discussions are removed for one reason or another which means that about 360 discussions a day will survive. This is what the histogram of my records since February looks like. The 'mode' (most frequent number of discussions per day) is between 375 and 390. Rather worrying, however, is the fact that the average number of responses per discussion has been falling steadily since about the beginning of August from a fairly constant number of a little more than 8 per discussion for February to July to somewhere about 7 per discussion. The number of comments per discussion follows a similar pattern, of course, though the average number of comments per response has remained pretty stable.

Roughly 360 discussions a day divided by 24 hours equals 15 discussions an hour... yep, that sounds right about how the discussions are pacing in average currently...

It works both ways. It's good of there's a lot of people interacting but many of your discussions won't get replies and likes as there will be so much. Don't know personally.

It seems there has always been a smaller 'core' group of users here that are constantly active. Even back in its heyday, I was able to get several responses in discussions I started...but I likely missed a lot of discussions as well since there were so many constantly being started.

Yep. A person really should never run out of things to respond to here if they want to take the time to look.

That sounds like a lot, but really, it isn't when you compare it to the number of registered users.

@cindiowens From back in May, I found out there have been 1,407,793 accounts signed up, and out of that, only 280,319 had actually had any activity other than signing up, so it's more like 4/5 of them haven't done anything

I think it may touch even 1600 per day if continues like this. There are many sites which boast of their payment. But they are not. They remain only for a short spell. Afterwards, they are turning their boards. They totally lack discipline. On that score, myLot is doing far better those-those sites.

You don't see the word yore to often these days.I feel a bit of a song coming on Sure my father wore it as a youth In the bygone days of yore It was on the twelfth I love to wear the sash my father wore. Musical interlude over. 3 million discussions since May 2006. I was only 45 then. Still a boy. How many discussions are being posted a day just now. How many active users ate there?
