Signs & Portents 1: Apple Blossom

"I'll be with you in Apple Blossom Time ..." goes the old song. That's usually April or early May in these parts but I have a tree which clearly thinks it's spring when all the other trees are about to lose their leaves. Is this a sign of something? Does it portend soemthing unusual? Probably not. It's just that the tree was recently dug up and put in a pot and it is very likely so stressed about this change that it is confused. I'm often inclined to have a snooze in the afternoon and, about this time of year, 6pm seems very like 6am as far as the light is concerned and I sometimes wake thinking that it's morning and not evening! What things do you get confused about and why?

I have a rose in bloom in the garden right now. I did not plant the rose, I suppose it auto-seeded from a rose bush of my neighbors. I think it's also confused, like your apple blossom.

Roses do have a habit of surprising one by blooming all of a sudden well into winter. I have more than once taken pity on a beautiful rose near Christmas and have cut it to bring indoors!

@owlwings It had rained a lot yesterday, but today I am going to cut the rose and bring it indoors, it's a shame to let her outside, the nights are already cold here.

Our orchards have been great areas of pink from apple blossom. Now the pink has faded and the leaves are appearing. We still have large areas of cherry blossom though.

Perhaps if I hang my tree upside down, it will think it's in Australia and then come to it's senses. I suspect, however, that it has been stressed by being dug up at the wrong time of year, as @rebelann suggests.

They hang tomato plants upside down @owlwings just curious if that really could work. Hey, @daddyevil is really knowledgeable about plants maybe he has a few ideas.

I have a sleeping disorder and sleep different times, sort of a cycle. When I sleep a few hours and then am up for a few I sometimes lose track of whether it is am or pm. Hate that feeling of not knowing.

It is quite unusual.Maybe it is due to the warm weather or other reasons that cause old leaves to be lost earlier ,which reduces the synthesis of ethrel that keeps the blossom bud from germination.
