Debit card fell out of the window.... during the drive thru!

United States
November 26, 2016 8:37pm CST
As my boyfriend paid for our breakfast, the girl handing his card back.. dropped it accidentally before even reaching my boyfriends hand.. My boyfriend couldn't open the door to get it since we were parked against the window. And, we couldn't reverse or move over so my solution was to wait until we get our food, then I'll go behind the car so the car behind us will know not to go forward. - But - A staff member was nice went outside and picked it up for us. So that was nice. Has the drive thru person ever drop money or your card? What did you do? We've had coins dropped before but we didn't go get them..

Is it common to have drive thru where you're at though?

I am glad that you got your card back. I always open my door and pick up dropped coins. I am cheap that way.

I'd try but since we're pulled closely, we won't be able to open the door. You'll find lots of coins at the to go areas I bet =)

Yes, that has happened to me before. Once, the worker came out and got the card to me. Another time when she dropped my change, which was a couple of dollars, I had to pull up and go back to pick it up.

That is nice the worker came out to pick up your card for you. The time you had to get out of your car, to get money - were there cars behind you?

I can imagine this could happen very easily. I think it is up to the staff to fix the problem which they did in your case.

@JudyEv The person who dropped it wasn't the one who picked it up though. Another staff member went out and willingly picked it up. She said said 'sorry' and that was it.

That would be frustrating to drop your card especially if theres a card in front of you or behind you. It was great that an employee went out to pick it up. Was it the same person that dropped it?

@infatuatedbby We don't have drive through places here. Here you park your car, get out, line up and purchase your food. then you collect it! No dropping money...we don't really use card.Actually, I don't know how to use it!
