We got back from our trip to the Oregon coast safely

It rained on us driving over the coast range on Friday, then was beautiful that afternoon in Yachats. My daughter and her Chihuahua arrived later that day and we had a great dinner at a really nice restaurant. Saturday, it rained and blew hard all day. Other than to eat and go to the art quilt show, we did little except watch the surf. I read most of a great poetry anthology and wrote more than I have in a long time. Sunday was beautiful again, but my daughter had to get back to Portland, so Anne and I visited the quilt show once more, our favorite tiny kitchen store, and book store, walked the beach trail and relaxed. All three evenings were spent with the floodlight on the incoming tide and the lights out in the house, mesmerized by the waves hitting the rocks within forty feet of the windows. It was incredibly relaxing. We cleaned the house up Monday morning and were on the road for a slow trip back home by noon. The art quilt show had 111 entries from all over the world. There were only three prizes, but Anne did not win one. I messed up my back a bit with heavy luggage so am off to see the acupuncturist.
