Today was the long awaited author event which started yesterday and goes through tomorrow.
This morning I read from Scarred. It was the first time I've ever read, and as nervous as I was, it didn't come through the microphone, only my loud strong voice. Which was good, considering how terrible the acoustics was there. I kept the microphone close to my mouth as directed, and also spoke loud enough for everyone to hear me.
Sadly, I didn't sell a single book
, though it went very well. Now to get back to editing Freedom's Cry and Manifest Destiny. Both of which are coming along very well. Manifest Destiny, being already published is going fast. Minor editing on that one and so far no typos. Yes, I'm a spell freak and when it comes to typos in books I go nuts no matter who the author is and I've seen best selling authors with typos, which I'm certain is the fault of the editor not the author.
My best friend from Writer's Guild came out to support me and took a couple pictures.
How did you spend your day? Thanks for reading.

I wish I knew. They were visible - all 19 of them I have to offer the world. Sooner or later they will sell. Hiding from the world can be a good thing some days, but I'd do something more fun than grading papers - working on your speakers helps with that.

What a great day for you. Maybe you will sell some books when that type of story becomes popular. It seems to go in trends.

@just4him .......Yes, but they like romance with a historical setting. I wish you well with it.

I think this kind of story is always popular. Lots of people like historical fiction.

No. This was the only thing I was going to do. I was happy to see the large turnout for the event this morning. If it has good response hopefully it will return next year. This is the first one like it that was done.

I visited another college this weekend with my granddaughter. I have done a few author's events, but I stopped when I discovered that it was easier to promote my books on Twitter and sell them on Amazon. Good luck with future author's events. I hope you sell more books in the future.

@just4him - We had a great time at the college. You might try promoting one of your books every day on Twitter. I have found that it does increase my book sales a little. There is a spot right on the Amazon page for your books you can use, if you have a Twitter account set up and linked to Amazon.

Sorry to hear you didn't make any sales, but sometimes networking is just about as positive a thing
