I came across this photo on Pixabay this morning during my normal run through of their images. It reminded me of some of the streams we came across while camping in the Rocky Mountains oh so many years ago. The water was ice cold and so refreshing. You could only stand in it for a few minutes before your feet and hands started to feel as though they were turning numb. What I wouldn't do for a stream like that here in my own back yard. It has been so hot and humid that all you can do is sit and sweat. I am forever grateful for the person who invented the air conditioner. Thanks Willis Haviland Carrier for inventing the modern air conditioner way back in 1902. You were a genius. I sit here dreaming of cold streams and melting from heat and humidity and wonder if I dream hard enough can I transport one of these streams here for me.

We have a creek in the back yard that while isn't ice cold is pretty cool, just have to watch out for snakes.

I don't mind the heat, it's the humidity I don't like. It usually is not humid here so the heat is easier to bare but lately it has been higher than 30% and I'm finding it harder to breath ..... don't laugh, it's usually well under 20% most of the time and even 20% is not so easy to take. Yeah, I iz a desert lizard.

I do too @HazySue but I get the feeling that humid to you is much higher than humid to me.

I have a hard time breathing when it is hot and humid. It feels like you are breathing through a cloud.

I love the cold water of mountain streams. It is impossible to keep your feet inside for long time, but it is so refreshing.

It is refreshing. If you can get your feet cool you can cool your whole body.

The weather, and your image make me want to go find a stream and enjoy it. I am ready for fall.

so am I. As much as I like the changing colors of the leaves I would do without it as long as I have the cooler weather.

When it is really hot, air-conditioning is just the bestest thing!

If it wasn't raining here now I would need it too. The humidity today is 100%.
