How do you "back up" posts you write for MyLot?

I lost another 15 minutes of my life tonight as I attempted to write an interesting post about a musically inclined kid at my friend's the preschool where I teach some mornings.
The post disappeared, and I had no backup, so 15 minutes of my life were basically wasted. How do you back up posts as you write them for MyLot?
Maybe I'll try again over the next few days. It was a cute story.

I do not. I save all my blog postings because they are 400 to 1,000 words and I use evernote,. Here I may write 100 or 200.

I used to back up things until I discovered that computers change software and after some time, what you wrote on a program the next can“t read it. I lost many stories I wrote in Works. Now I print it.

@marguicha use a plain text editor like notepad and save in extension .txt - you can reuse that even on a Linux or Mac system.

@TheHorse Computers do not have a good system of back up as they are made to be changed and upgraded from time to time.

What a cutie!
I write my posts on a notepad and then cut and paste them into the discussion box. I don't keep all those on my computer either. I have a thumb disc I keep all documents in and one for pictures. That way my computer is clean.

@celticeagle If my post is going to be three paragraphs long, I could publish the first paragraph and then just keep on writing until it's done. That way I wouldn't "lose" it.

@TheHorse You need to first open the editor you prefer like Notepad/Notepad++/Textpad/MSWord or any other and then start work on Mylot.
First type what all discussions/responses and comments you would like to post and then only copy and paste to Mylot.

I'm too lazy to make back ups unless there's a power black out while in the middle of my post making. That's when I put it in ms word.

I write them in my phone's Quicknotes, saving often. Then I cut and paste.

@TheHorse - I learned my lesson back in the EPS days. It's hard to rewrite what you've just written.

I use a text editor named as Notepad++ where I copy the discussions or other text. I copy from there to Mylot or vice-versa.
This helps me in saving my work, and retyping just in case the browser immediately crashes, or Mylot site faces any issues.

I use MS word which backs things us as you go. As far as keeping any of the thousand of posts I've done - no way.
What I post here is not save-worth - it's not something i would ever use again.

I always write mine in Word first. Sometimes I just jot something so I don't forget to write about it later. I might add bits of research from other sites then eventually I write it and edit it if need be. But sometimes I write it straight out then copy and paste.

@TheHorse by copying it, sometimes i wait til im done with it to copy it. Other times if it's a decent sized one I'll copy it half way and when done.
