If you don't respond to discussions by other people, why should I bother responding to your discussions?

And I don't mean my discussions.
I get plenty of activity, so if you don't respond to mine, it isn't really going to bother me.
I'll still respond to yours.
Unless you are one of those people I see that don't respond to discussions by anyone else.
Then I am not going to waste my time with you.
I don't care if you comment to every response in your discussions.
You are still basically saying "No one else writes interesting discussions so I am only going to be active in my own".
Well, that's fine.
But I won't be active in them.
Which means you lost a part of what you could have been earning here.
But that is your choice.
Meanwhile, I think I'll go respond to a discussion by someone else.
Laterz.

Good point!! I am not as active as I use to be on here and I seem to miss a lot of discussions. I do my best to try to keep up and respond to as many as I can. Life just gets in the way sometimes

Yeah, life does that sometimes...you'd think life would go get a life or something instead of bugging us all the time

@JolietJake Well of course they won't learn if they don't read other people's discussions (like this one)

I'm not really talking about that, I'm talking about people that have 91 of their own discussions and have responded to 8, or 225 discussions of their own and have responded to 23 by other people.

Another interesting discussion, as always, by an interesting (dis)cusser.

I see a few that rarely comment on their own responses in their discussions. Weird. To each his own I guess.

@spiderdust I read somewhere that it's becoming less of a sin to terminate a sentence with a preposition. Do you know the joke that ends, "Oh, excuse me! I was wondering where the library is at, A*SHOLE!"?
That's a good question. Maybe I'd swim more and get rid of this belly.

Yeah...the 'myLot' discussions (which this is) do seem to generate a lot of activity to them, while things I think might get lots of responses just lay there like a flat cat

Where would you move on to?
(tries not to feel ashamed about ending a sentence with a preposition)

I got time to respond finally. You make good points here. I know I am one to do more posting and lots less responding. I tried doing responses for a few days and nights to do some catching up and found that it was really a job. It does pay off in the end because I know that people need feedback here at myLot. I needed this post to read to realize I am one of those who post too much and don't comment enough.

You may post more than you respond to, but still you respond to many discussions. There are a few individuals here who don't respond to any.
I've never considered not responding to you when a discussion you write catches my eye, because I do see you at times in discussions from other people.

I hear what you are saying and people can do that if they want. I look for interesting and unusual topics and add my two cents. Sometimes I just add my two cents.

@JolietJake I know and I hope they read this discussion and come to appreciate the value of the point you are trying to make.

Yep, as long as they aren't plagiarizing or spamming referral links, they can do whatever.
But I think it rather silly when they post a discussion with 'myLot earning tips' and they are totally ignoring one of the best ways to earn.

I have noticed that before but what I have noticed is it is more with the new people that do it. I feel the same way you do about it why respond if they don't want to respond back I can see if you are busy but you can still come back and respond

I'm not speaking about commenting back, per se, but to the fact that they only post in their own discussions and do not respond in discussions by other people at all.

To me, it doesn't matter if a person responded to any discussions or not. If the person's post leaves me with something to say I will leave a comment.

Some times I take break from mylot and get busy on Facebook.. but that doesn't mean I don't like these discussions...or I won't respond to these discussions.. it simply means I wasn't active on mylot..but when iam active..I do respond to every possible discussions I read because I find something interesting in every discussion..but as far as I know you are really good and you're always active on mylot it's really great..
