That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

So someone ( @UnkyGreggy ) on facebook made a wisecrack about me passing out cigarette butts when I ran out of candy for the kids since my pumpkin wasn't full. I told him that's what all the green and orange freezer pops were for. But I started worrying after that...what if I did run out? I'd be fair game for all sorts of nasty tricks from kids that didn't get their treats. So I went and bought more candy. But I bought too much and it all wouldn't fit in the bucket and I just didn't know what to do. So I ate it. Problem solved.

So did he have to settle for tuna after that?

Problem solved. I remember my dad offering to buy our candy from us so he could hand it out. I don't think he ran out; he was trying to avoid dentist bills.

Quick thinking! Although, one might say that you buying more than enough candy was on purpose.

We usually over-buy too. I hope that your trick or treaters enjoy your treats and don't have to play any tricks on you.

@JolietJake Do not waste the leftover candy, eat them. I do not know why I bought so much chocolate knowing that kids do not come for treats here.

The knock at our door came rather late... Youngest answers it, high on his own candy haul from knocking on doors.... All I hear is "you're the last ones, happy Halloween" and he empties all the remaining candy from our big plastic pumpkin into these guys' loot sacks! And I didn't get to try the dark Skittles I'd bought...

I mean, what else could you do? We seldom get any trick or treaters any more out here in the country. We buy a little candy just in case, but now we have to eat it.

That was one way to solve the problem by eating those that did not fit. Did you have a bad stomach afterwards?
