Did anyone miss me?

Well, about 1:23 PM a limb took out a power line near my house and interrupted service to 9 customers (including yers truly) for a few hours. So I dug out the Coleman propane lantern I bought 7-8 years ago and had never opened...finally had a legitimate use for it. So I read by the light of it for a few hours waiting for the electric company to fix the line. They did. At which point my computer would not work. And after messing around for 45 minutes trying to get it to boot up, I dug out two old computers Boss had given me...of which neither work. So with a heavy heart, I left and went to the pawn shop to see how much a used computer tower would be. They were closed. So I went to WallyWorld to see how much a new computer would be...and then quietly walked out, got back in my van, and came home. Them things are more than I can afford at the moment. But I decided to give my old computer one more chance to work. And guess what? Here I am. I guess it didn't want to meet Mr Sledgehammer after all...

LOL Yes, I did miss you this morning:) I went to WalMart to price a laptop (FORGET IT!) I'm glad your old computer finally decided to work. I've thought about using a sledgehammer on this one, it's getting pretty old and ornery, just like me!

Sometimes the thingys work when you are about to kill them. I´d love to use a hammer on them many times.

Took me about 30 minutes to realize I had that propane lantern laying around in the back room...bought it years ago for night fishing and then never went

So glad you are back and you didn't have to toss out your computer. Any kind of electronic is expensive now a days. I hate when my power goes out it's annoying. Luckily haven't dealt with that in awhile.

I've had mine flash off for a few seconds during a storm, but this is the first time I've lost it for any length of time in several years.

I'm rather surprised mine has lasted as long as it has. And(knock on wood) I haven't had to call a tech. I hope this continues to work until I get something else payed off.

Glad that you gave it a second chance, you'd have really been upset if you would have bought another one and then the original one fired up again for you.

I thought earnings were slow... Computer troubles after a power cut... open it up and blow out the dust usually fixes it.

I opened it. I sucked out the dust. It still kept making weird sounds and shutting down after about 5 seconds...maybe less...wasn't even giving the monitor time to fire up.

Everything has a purpose @JolietJake and apparently yours was just to go driving around for awhile and just get aggravated while your computer took a little rest.
