Only TWO WEEKS left to Stop Christmas!!!

...and I just don't have the energy this year to get involved. All the planning and plotting and scheming...I just can't seem to get properly engaged in the frame of mind needed to undertake a task of this magnitude. Of course, it's Monday...and I can never seem to get motivated about anything on Mondays. Except it's payday. That will at least get me as far as going to work. May not motivate me to do anything after I get there, but...

I don't try to stop it...I just let it happen. I do what I can to prepare, but try not to sweat if things aren't perfect or the way id like them to be.

I wish they'd move either Christmas or Thanksgiving...having 2 major family get-togethers in a one month period, basically, is too much.

@JolietJake maybe we could have Christmas in February? But then it would interfere with Valentine's Day.

@Morleyhunt Only families in Kentucky and Arkansas get together for Valentine's Day.

Just ignore it. A week or two (or is it three?) and it will all be over and we can gradually get back to normal.

Two from today, three if you throw New Year's into the mix

You may as well give up now because you will fail as always.

It can be draining to try and stop a big holiday like Christmas.

@Madshadi Even a 'day off' often means I have to go deal with a problem at one of the rental houses Boss owns.

So of course, I started ignoring my bank balance Saturday since I knew I would 'replenish' it today before I get hit with any overdraw fees

I just ran into work to turn the heat on...allegedly someone is supposed to come today and fix it so it works right.

Very much you have to deal with it, but the worst could be, it will pass soon and the holiday will pass soon. Till then we have no choice, but can have "enjoy holiday" whichever comes our way.

Making it into work on Mondays is usually biggest hurdle to overcome, its all downhill after that, and Christmas.......you can let that one go, please, I really really like it.

The only good thing about Christmas is it falls on a payday Monday, which means I'll get paid the Friday before it

time really flies. I haven't put up our Christmas tree yet. Though I am already almost done with my xmas shopping , I haven't wrapped them yet. Too many things to do with very little time

Friday was my payday. I assume the check was the same as all of the others. I didn't even bother to open the pay stub. It all gets directly deposited into an account that I don't even know the # to.

I sometimes wish I got a salary. It would simplify things a bit.

@JolietJake For me, it is great. My day starts and ends at the bell as my husband likes to say. After doing it for so many years, I don't need to prepare any longer. All of my grading, lesson plans, etc. get done while I'm at work. I don't bring anything home EVER. My husband, on the other hand, is salaried and he works long hours plus commuting to and from PA each day.

You can't stop Christmas this year, you don't want to... And it's all someone's fault for being so super nice to you. I hope you have a good day. =)

I do very little Christmas shopping. Mainly just for a few friends and my mom. That all was accomplished at Five Below and WalMart this weekend. I would really like one of those white Olney squirrels as a pet though hinthint.

Christmas here is the first important celebration after Easter, so I am not very concerned to stop it, but I will be glad when it's over. I cannot stand anymore the Christmas songs and the Christmas villages in the malls.
