He's Not in It, So There

My husband didn't want me to take any photos, especially of him, so I gave him my iPhone and asked if he'd mind taking a photo of my brother and me. That was just what he wanted to hear. It's become a tradition to take "first day in Florida" photos of friends and family. My brother flew down yesterday for one week to open his condo and receive shipment of one of his cars. We picked him up at the airport and invited him to our place for cocktails and dinner. I swear we see him and his wife more in Florida than we do in Connecticut. Do you see family often?

So, your husband would rather be the photographer rather than in the photograph.

@DianneN - We see our spread out family as often as possible. In fact, about 90% of our travel these days involves seeing our family ... either our kids or our siblings. Family is very precious and, as we age, we never know how much longer our siblings and older family members are going to live.

Yes, I know how spread out your family is and totally understand. We are so lucky to have loving families worth visiting. I can't believe how some people aren't on speaking terms with their own mother! How horrid is that?

Most of our siblings we see fairly regularly, the son in Melbourne perhaps once a year and the one in Ireland about every two years.

@DianneN She goes with her "friend" I think they stay in Daytona Beach. My late husbands family has quite a few people living in Florida but I'm not sure where. I remember hearing the name Fruitland Park but thats all I recall.

Glad you spent time together, cute picture. =) We don't see family often since we live far from each other and everyone has so many life expenses, traveling just isn't one that we can afford.

I thought if your brother come from long distance, then he might stay for few days with you. When we go and met our relatves, or when they come to meet us, all stay in home unless there is less room, and this is always fine.
