Anyone know how to "enlarge" a photo?

I have this picture of me that's a part of a "promo" poster we use for our gigs. I wanted to post it to Facebook, but it's "too small." It's a rare and valuable photo, because I'm smiling, which I rarely do, but I don't know how to make it big enough for Facebook. Any ideas?

Photoshop from adobe but they changed so much, I would not have the slightest idea of how it works. I was good at it at one time. You can try was free, have to sign up though.

I've never used Photoshop. I have an editor program that came with my Kodak digital camera, but I don't think it enlarges and shrinks things.

The one and only person I know, who could possibly help you, is J.J. He helped me with a photo this week. Why don't you ask him for help?

J.J.? Never heard of him. Sounds like some guy from Illinois or something. I left there years ago.

Nice photo. I wish I could help but I would fear it would get pixelated at a larger size.

You used to be able to enlarge it (by cropping it) on Facebook. Now they come out with this “it’s too small” baloney. You could probably put it in Paint and enlarge it that way, but you’re going to lose the resolution quality.

Yep, exactly. I wish I had the original. I had to steal it from a promo poster.

If you enlarge a small photo, you lose in quality. Any graphic program can enlarge a photo, but you will see that the result is pretty poor. I enlarged this one, not even too much, and you can check by yourself.

Ah, thanks. I bet the original was high resolution. But I stole this one from a promo poster. I don't have the original.

Good question. All I can suggest is to have an artist sketch using the photo as a guide - what you get won't be the photo, but would be big enough to use for publicity and also would be unique...

@TheHorse I think you might find the result could be better than you imagined, if you get the right artist and that person gets this photo and perhaps a couple more you have available.

It is still a mystery to me why you do not smile...fascinating mystery. The plausible explanation I have given to me is, if he smiles he would look very nice. And if he does that, many girls would openly shower their adulation, and in one weak moment, he would end up choosing one of them, letting go of other admirers. He wants them all, so he avoids the risk.

I use paint, all I do is upload a shot in paint then I use the resize feature on the left and on the pixel set of values I either enlarge or decrease.

That's as much of a smile as you will get from me. My band mate is going to send me the original.
