May - My Favorite Month

This is the second month that starts with a Holiday.
The first of April was Easter, today is Labor Day, in several countries around the world.
I have always liked the month of May. The days are long, the cold weather is over, but the temperature is not yet too hot.
The trees are covered with new leaves and the fields full of flowers.
Great time for the first open BBQ parties.
The birth stone of May is the Emerald and the flower the daisy.
May gets its name from the Greek goddess Maia, whose festival was held during this time of the year.
Among the strange celebration of this month, please note that the first Saturday in May is World Naked Gardening Day.
I am not going to celebrate and I hope that two of my neighbors (who I can see from my balcony) will NOT decide to celebrate gardening naked. I will keep the shutters closed.
Among many, those celebrations sounds interesting:
May 6 - National Crepe Suzette Day - I take note
May 10 - National Clean Up Your Room Day - Less interesting, but must be done
May 13 - Mother's Day - remember to celebrate your moms.
May 20 - National Be a Millionaire Day - If I only knew how to be one.
Anything special planned for this month?
The photo is my orchid, finally blooming after 5 years.

I am glad that your favorite month is May as I was born in this month
Actually I just realized that Labour Day seems to be so popular in many countries. We had three days off work including Saturday and Sunday. I hope this month will be better for me as I have quite a lot of important things to do in this month.

In India, May is tough month, especially where I live. If you are traveling to this part of the world avoid late March, April, May, first part of June.
As to lined up, tomorrow I have to go to Star hospitals for collecting some signatures of the doctor there, then complete the information hand over for claiming monies for aunt. On 8th there is court date, the opposite party will submit their written arguments. Around 23rd, there may be final arguments, hopefully before. Then may be by end of the month, I might get order for one of my cases. In the meanwhile second case hearing is tomorrow. LOL. Hectic life. New tenant has to be looked for in one of our homes. Then agreement. And finally rent collections. Life goes on.

Lots of things planned for May too but for us Mothering Sunday is in March whilst Fathers day is in June,
I have another trip coming up which will be very exciting indeed. Plus we have another Royal wedding on the 19th of May which will be interesting to see. We like May as there are two bank holidays one at the beginning of the month and one at the end of the month!
Have a wonderful May Anna it is the best month of the year!

I have an extra special celebration planned for the 20th
I like May too. We have two Bank Holiday Monday's in May, the first Monday and the last Monday, so two extra days off work!!
We have Mother's Day in March in the UK, usually falling within a few days of my wife's birthday!!! Awkward for the kids

In France Mother's Day is a bit later, I think to remember the last Sunday of May. My husband's birthday is the day after mother's day. I would love to celebrate the 20th. If I could only guess the right Lotto numbers.
We have three Holidays in May here, the 10th (Ascension Day), the 21st Whit Monday and the 31st Corpus Domini (Corpus Christi).

@LadyDuck You just had to go one better didn't you?
The Lotto?? No! Don't do it. It's a conspiracy!! Before you know it you'll be spending your last Euro on a ticket and then they'll have you exactly where they want you (whoever 'they' may be and wherever 'where' actually is!!)

May is a busy month for us. My parents birthdays are both in May on the 3rd (mama) and the 13th (daddy). Mother's Day is also in May and of course Memorial Day on the 28th this year.

I wish I had that much patience with my orchid years ago which I pulled out because it did not bloom. Yours does not look real and when a real flower does not look real that is a compliment.
May is my birthday month and yes lots of flowers, fruits and a lot of enthusiasm.
