The view from your windows

When I look out of my front window I can see a large field where people walk their dogs and children play football. There are no houses facing me so there is a nice view At the back is my garden and I can see other houses which line the road I live in. When the sun sets I can see lovely colours over the rooftops. What can you see from your windows?

I remember when we bought our first five acres and I looked out onto a paddockful of sheep. I'm sure my blood pressure dropped several points at that time. I was brought up on a farm and never felt at home in cities or towns. Now, if I'm lucky, I look out at kangaroos drinking at our bird bath.

Sunset by LadyDuck
I see large green trees and the small waterfall created by the brook running on the right of our garden. I can see the sun when it sets behind the mountains, on the back of our house. This is the photo of a sunset on a stormy evening.

back yard
In the front I see the street and the other houses.. I do have a lovely dogwood tree and flower garden in my font yard that I can view from my large front porch.. so i ty to focus on those things instead. my back yard is large and has green grass and trees and usually some puppies running around in it .. I enjoy sitting out back.. much better view!

@sprite1950 yea, it has a bit more dirt instead of grass (where the shade is on the bottom) now. due to high dog traffic.. we are planning to landscape that with some mulch as it (grass) probably wont ever have a chance to grow with 6 dogs.

@minx267 Yes that's the problem when you have dogs, the grass can become a bit sparse. I have artificial grass in my back garden. It's really hard wearing but it stinks where they wee on it. I have so spray it with stuff to stop the smell especially in the warm weather.

The windows at the front of my house face the street, and I can see my neighbors across the street. But looking out my back porch and patio, I have a nice strand of trees and then a big open field, with a stream and forest behind it. Normally, the field is covered in nice green grass, but right now it is a lake because it has been raining so much here. It's not supposed to be a lake, it's supposed to be a field! I want my field back! haha

I like overlooking a field. It doesn't normally get flooded and always looks quite beautiful when it snows.

I live in a rural area near the city, I have some houses near but this is the view from my kitchen (I took this picture on a foggy day, I will try to post a sunny one tomorrow )

@nela13 It looks lovely but I bet it takes a lot of looking after if all that grass is yours.

@sprite1950 it is a part of my garden, the street and the view but it was so foggy that it is hard to see, maybe you can see better in this one.

I see the neighbors across the street out the front and out the back I see the neighbors on the street behind me. Houses everywhere. It would be nice to see open fields instead of so many houses.

Yes I used to live in a place like that. Where I live now there is a lot of greenery. It's great for dog walking.

@morgoodie They need some pavement walking to keep their claws down but it's nice for them to run free in a field.

@sprite1950 I wish I had some place close by for dog walking. We have sidewalks but that's not fun.

Hmmm... Depending on which window I look out, I can see bamboo growing in front of my house or pampas grass growing there. If I must, I can also see the houses and street in front of my house. (I usually look at the bamboo and pampas grass instead of the street or neighbors.) I don't have a back door but the windows on the back of my house look out onto a six foot privacy fence about six feet from the back of my house. (It's a much better view than the ramshackle and tumbledown house and sheds on down the alley!) I think I'd trade views with you, if you like?

Yes I think I'm lucky where I live now as there is so much greenery. The downside is there is a children's park at the end of the field where teenagers gather at night and make a noise. I'm not too close to that though.

@porwest We get most of those. I didn't think we had racoons but apparently we do. I've never seen one though. I'm not sure about woodchucks. I think we call them groundhogs here.
