Sometimes we need to be honest to people in order to help them. They might get hurt at first, but if they don't know that there is a problem they aren't able to fix it. I have a friend (A) who didn't take a shower very often. One time he met one of my other friends (B) and afterwards B said to me: "He smells so bad, doesn't he take a shower?" I decided that it was time to talk to him about it. He didn't really change his habits when I talked to him, but when he got a girfriend he changed.

I think it also has something to do with being aware of it. You did well to inform her discreetly.

Everyone loves man Juice. This post is so funny. Female juice , gets more attention than man juice when things go awry. I guess it is you supposed to be a lady and we know how men are.

We surely do not make a favor not informing the concerned person. I agree that the mix of perfume and body odour is horrible.

My roomie does not bathe enough. I don't stand too close to him. I just don't understand the reason for not taking a shower..you feel better when you do!

Now these post of yours reminded me of my trip to Sentosa Island. We were at universal studios and the queue was quite long in most of the popular rides. There were these cute couple, not a native of Singapore, but from another country ( wouldn't mention which country), who looked really well dressed but the moment I got close, I almost fainted. Really horrible smell.

I agree there is nothing worse than BO and perfume mixed.

We had the school nurse discuss that problem with two school psychologists. It helped a tiny bit. It's nasty also when a smoker tries to cover up his stink with cologne and breath mints. It doesn't work!

I totally agree with you. It's similar to when a room really stinks and someone sprays with an intense air freshener. It only makes the room smell worse. Not everyone is a fan of someone mentioning to them that they have bad breath or that they have body odor. Some get very upset or offended if you do that. Glad your office colleague wasn't that kind of person. Another thing I will mention... Not everyone likes or can take very strong smells. So, when someone sprays themselves with very strong cologne/perfume, or with a lot of it, it can be suffocating and make it hard to breathe. And when it's very hot out and it's hard to breathe as it is this makes it worse.

the best way to get rid of body odor is to bathe and use deodorant. Perfume and cologne will not be as effective as deodorants

it is so hard to be able to do this and tell them about it. i am sure she is able to fix it now that you have told her? I hope its just something that can be easily cured. I honestly don't think I could do this and be the one to tell someone if they have a body odor. especially if the person is not very close to me.

Many are prefer to be silent in this case thinking the other person many not like it. But we must inform the person then only she/he aware about the same and can take necessary steps.

Bad breath can be extremely hard to treat even if you are fanatical about cleaning your teeth.

Ya it's an important issue to address. It becomes difficult when in close proximity like lift where there is no escape.
