Do you write reviews for businesses

When I am especially impressed by a business I write a review of their company. I wrote a review on YP and on Yelp for the plumber that just left here.
The company will be getting quite a bit of business from us as we work on our house.
If I do not like the way a company does business, instead of a review, I write directly to corporate with my issues. That is the way I do business. I try not to bad mouth others too much.
I am really pleased to be able to write a good review of this company.

Sometimes if they are good. I wanted to write a bad review of the auto dealership I bought my car from..by friend talked me out of it..saying I might get sued. It has happened!

I would be more inclined to write directly to corporate for a bad experience.

I like to be complimentary for the company to see, but to privately complain if something needs attention.

@GardenGerty When I privately talk to my friends, I tell them if a company is good or not, but I do not post public reviews.

I want the community around to know they do good work. They are from the county where I used to live. This young man says that there are more plumbers than ever in business there and that they want all the customers they can find.

It is rare that I would write a review for the company but I will do words of mouth.

hopefully writing to corporate when something displeased you has a better chance of getting looked at and fixed/improved.

Often if it is a food establishment they offer a free dish to make up for the bad experience, but I do not go for that. If it was bad enough for me to complain it was bad enough to not trust to go back.

I have written complaints directly to companies as well. Sometimes getting good satisfaction.
