The plumber came back at noon today. On the agenda: Join the two gas lines, so that we are a single customer. Reset the toilet that got bumped and knocked off it's base Fix the flue to the hot water heater and light it. He already put a new thermopile in on Wednesday. He said it was not safe the way it was. Go in the crawl space and join the water lines to make me into one water customer as well. Actually the water line is all he has left. He said he would save getting muddy for the last thing, then he could go home and clean up. Image is mine of his truck.

That guy will earn his keep and be delighted to go home and clean up. I'm glad you found a helper.

It did not take a full day either. I am glad to have these things done. Joining the lines will save me about $30 per month in customer fees.

@GardenGerty Nice all the way round. I hope the bathroom creation in my West side house goes as quickly and well.

It seems you have a good plumber who knows his job.

It only took about half the time he thought it would. He does charge travel time as well, but that is okay.

@GardenGerty Everyone in our days charges travel time, but if they work fast, I am glad to pay travel time.

He will certainly earn his pay. He sounds like he knows his business.

He seems to, but he grew up in it. His dad owns the business, plus his dad does house and building inspections.

Wednesday he took care of some urgent issues. He says basically the clean out is like a bandaid. The sewer line will need to be replaced sooner or later.
