Hope your Tuesday plans are more exciting than mine!

I'm off to the college to get some transparencies I've been using for years into handouts. Diablo Valley College is try to be "high tech," but the net result is an inability to use "old school" transparencies, an inability to show movies that I've used for years and a system for turning in grades that works "sometimes." After this mundane task, I get to stop at WalMart to pick up some squishy balls for the kids at the preschool. If the kid have to throw things at each other, I'd prefer it be squishy balls than plastic dinosaurs. They're easier to catch as well.

If our preschool teacher had thought so much about squishy balls...and plastic dinosaurs. I am just scared though..kids tend to push everything in their mouth.

I vacuumed yesterday. It was pretty satisfying. Lots of big dust bunnies!

@vandana7 Three- and four-year-olds, not so much. I don't work with the Pampers set at this preschool.

Soft balls are surely better than dinosaurs. Buy the balls big enough so that they cannot put them in their mouths.

@TheHorse They sound safe enough, kids are very creative about creating problems with their toys.

@LadyDuck Yes, but for the most part, their injuries just require a hug and a kiss.

Exactly! The hurt will be emotional, not physical.

Do you use Powerpoint? I never bought a laptop. I do all of my computing at home.

@NJChicaa I'm aware of this. But I still like to use a bit of lecture, followed by discussion. Repeat as necessary.

@TheHorse Yeah. I have Powerpoint presentations made for all of the chapters/units. Each classroom has a desktop computer connected to a projector mounted on the ceiling. And that is considered very old technology. The really up-to-date places have had smart boards and iPads and whatnot for years now.

She's one of my "best friends" from the preschool I worked at for a friend in Berkeley. The picture was taken about a month ago, so she's still a youngun.

That sounds pretty exciting to me, but maybe I have low standards. I didn't have much planned for today beyond work, going to the gym and getting a few errands done. Felt busy enough for me though in my opinion. Welcome back !

@TheHorse - I'm settled down to watch the election results and then, at 7:00, we are headed to a local hotel to watch the polls with the candidate we have been supporting, Katie Porter in CA45. Fingers crossed she wins!

@TheHorse - She is a Democrat running against the incumbent Republican in a District which has never, ever has a Democrat as a US Representative. She is the consumer advocacy attorney who helped Kamala Harris hold the banks accountable when they cheated homeowners who were losing their homes during the financial crisis in 2009. She is smart, friendly and warm. She is currently a law professor at UC - Irvine. My husband and I have been helping her campaign for a year. Here's a picture of her with us.

Today lots of things are there which are non toxic for the kids. Better to give them those to keep the kids from dangerous things.
