If you could send your mylot friends a Christmas gift what would it be?

I took my daughter out shopping today. She had money she wanted to spend buying her friends and family Christmas presents. One of our stops was to the Dollar Tree. I saw this cute owl oil diffuser (in the photos I attached) and it reminded me that @sharon6345 wants to redecorate her bathroom to an owl theme. It got me thinking if money were no option what gifts I would send my mylot friends for Christmas based on things I know they collect or enjoy. Off the top of my head ... I would send @DianneN some treats for doodles even though I know she doesn’t celebrate Christmas and isn’t up north right now I still want to include her in this post A box of Getrude Hawk Chocolate Peanut Butter Smidgens would go to @Courtlynn since she has never heard of them and they are my favorite chocolates produced in a factory not far from me. My kids and I toured the factory a few years ago around this time of year. I recall well because all through the inside of the factory there were Christmas decorations. @Tina30219 I’d send a book. Since she reads a lot more then me I’d have a hard time finding one to surprise her with that she hadn’t read already. I’d search to find a nice cookbook for @NjChicaa I’m getting tired and figure I better wrap this up so the last person I can think of right now I’d send a gift to would be @DesirousDreamer who would get the huge plush sloth I saw at Aldi’s on Tuesday. I’d get to hear about his adventures helping his mama work on her art and see her selfies with him. I adore so many people here and wish I could send everyone of them a nice Christmas gift but of course that’s not possible. If you could get a gift for anyone here at Mylot what would you get for them? If you could get any gift from someone what would you get? I’d choose some of @AndriaPerry lotions, a book by any writer here so off the top of my head @DWDavis , a slate painting by @PainsOnSlate and a cute teddy bear by @BearArtistLady Mylot members sure are a bunch of talented awesome people aren’t they! I hope no one minds me tagging them in this post.

Aww, thanks for thinking of me. Doodles needs more treats like I need a hole in the head, but I appreciate the thought. My son is putting him on a diet. When he was weighed at the Vet last week, he was a whopping 17.9 pounds. The Vet wants him at 14 pounds. It’s my fault. If I had the money, I would have all my friends fly to Florida, all expenses paid, with their family, to enjoy a shopping spree, warm weather, fine dining, live theater and attractions, and fun in the pool or ocean,

@DianneN Hmm well since it's a magical world world where I would have enough money to buy everyone something the cat trees can be magical healthy weight loss ones for Doodles. Your response was wonderful. Your thinking of less materialistic things which really are way better! I'd love to be able to fly to Florida and meet you with my kids. All the exciting things you could show us we would have such a great time. Now where's that genie lamp....

@shaggin I’m sure we’d be happy if Doodles could magically lose weight. It would be so much better for his heart. I know my son is already working on Doodles’ weight loss. Poor Doodles. Thank you! I truly wish you could come and visit. There are so many things for you, your daughter, and your son to do here. It truly is a magical place.

Like @JudyEv I've never thought about this. Our family hasn't exchanged gifts in years, so I've not thought about what I want or what to get anyone else. But if someone needs something it doesn't matter if it's a gift-giving occasion or not. If I can I will give what they need or surprise them with something that makes me think of them just for fun.

@bagarad that is so kind of you! I agree if someone needs something and I am able to help I will do it. Why wait until the holidays to do something nice for someone else. I often surprise my kids and boy friend with little things.

@Courtlynn I think it means more when unexpected gifts come. Then the one who gets the gift knows you were really thinking of them -- not just trying to find something because a gift is expected for an occasion.

Get @AmbyPam anything with flamingos. I would gift everyone with more time that was free to do as she/he wished.

@GardenGerty a family down the street from me has about 30 flamingo lawn decorations in their yard. The father goes out every few days and rearranges them. Sometimes they get lined up as if they are playing football against each to her it's pretty cute seeing what he comes up with. Great answer non material things can be the most useful. We would need a magic genie lamp for this one. I'd take the ability for less sleep while feeling refreshed to be able to have more time in a day to get things done.

One year she sent me a book of life savers. She told me that I remind her of her Mom, which was such an incredible compliment, and that her Mom always loved it when she gave her life savers. I cannot tell you how much I cried when I received that gift.

@BarBaraPrz I have been seeing that name A Grinch Named JJ around here and wondered if it was JolietJake. I just went to that profile and it says closed and has no posts since June so must be @myklj999 is his new account? JolietJake was easy to remember I'll never remember the new one off the top of my head. Why the account change?

@Courtlynn You would love this chocolate I am sure of it. They have a huge sale every year at the factory where you can buy huge boxes of chocolate for $5. The shipping would cost a fortune though! Someday maybe I will be able to send you a baby outfit or homemade ornament

@Courtlynn Nope no nuts. My son just got 100 on his spelling test and he asked before he got 100 the first day we went over the words if he could get a candy bar. Lats week that happened and I didn't think it would happen again so I said I guess but it's not likely he will get another 100 so easily that it will likely only happen once in a blue moon and boom he got 100. So I have to go to town Friday and buy one of those Gertrude Hawk candy bars he wants for $1. Oh and the baby outfit I hope some day you get to have another baby so I can send you an outfit for her/him to celebrate.

If I were wealthy, I would give Courage7 a gift certificate to an upscale furniture store for all the home furnishings she wants. I would give Uncle Joe a year of free medical care, including surgeries and medicines, and Shay Loves Kay all the craft supplies she could ever wish for. But there are some things that all the money in the world couldn't buy, as many of our myLotters know. This was a wonderful idea, Shaggin. There are many other myLot friends I would give to also.

I don't mind at all. I have a hard time buying gifts but I do paint a lot and could send slates to my friends but the cost of postage and insurance makes that a dream not a reality. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, I am looking forward to having the children ( who are all adults) to come with my grand-dogs.

I prefer things done for me that are hard for me to do or something homemade. I'm not sure what I would give but would make sure what their likes and dislikes are. Maybe a nice candle, book they've been wanting to read, ornament, or fancy coffee.

@noni1959 that was a very thoughtful thing for your daughter to do! My parents are the hardest people to buy for. They already have everything and my mom doesn't like candles or anything like that. Her towels are old and thin and ratty so I bought her a whole set of nice new pretty ones. She returned them because she likes her old worn out thin towels as they are easier to dry in the dryer.

I believe you couldn't think of a topic you really wanted to write about so you decided to write "Santa" a letter here, Shaggin. Let me see... I've sent one myLotter a selection of recipes that Pretty and I accumulated years ago. (The recipes are some that were fairly easy to make (since I was a single dad) and we both loved. ) Another myLotter should have received a shipment of Black Walnuts, or maybe they are still on their way. I've sent several people here money (directly into their PayPal accounts). And another friend here received a scarf I crocheted for her. (I also tried to send one friend a new pc when hers passed away, but she turned it down.) Hmmm... those are all the things I can remember, off-hand, that I've given to people I met here. I can think of several myLotters who seem to need a better sense of humor, but I guess that isn't something I can actually give them. *shrug* I hope you had a beautiful Christmas and will have a great New Year!

@DaddyEvil I do recall about the PC you were wanting to send someone but they wouldn't let you. It was just something I was thinking about not a letter to Santa since only two people here know my address. One because I sent her a Christmas card and the other because I ordered lotions from her. I wouldn't give out my address because I wouldn't want anyone to send me anything and not be able to reciprocate. I did not know you crocheted that is awesome! I agree some mylot members could use a better sense of humor or a dose of kindness so if I ever get a magic lamp I will keep them in mind
