Do you have a Funcle?

Our son is a favorite uncle to his niece and nephews. In fact, they call him "Uncle."
Last week his sister gave him a T shirt that reads on the front, "FUNCLE. A fun uncle. Like a dad, only way cooler."
We've had the best laugh over this! He loves it and wore it when he took his nine year old nephew to see the Sonic Hedgehog movie in Charleston this week.
So, do you have a Funcle? Are you possibly a Funcle?
Sorry, ladies. We may be the coolest, most beautiful aunt in the universe, but we'll never be a Funcle.

What a great idea for a shirt. I had an uncle that could have been a Funcle. He never had children of his own so he always made so much of his nieces and nephews.

No I did not have a funcle. I got one that helps out on the cars and mowers but that is not a funcle.

No, as a matter of fact, I have no uncles left. They all passed away.

@porwest That was such a blessing for you. At the end of my mother's life from Alzheimers, she didn't remember my name, but called me the pretty one.

@1creekgirl Yeah. I do. I could not talk to him for years. The ONLY consolation is that he never forgot me. I would go to visit him and he would always know who I was. He would call me by name. I don't know why he remembered me and not anyone else. But he always knew who I was.

My son is also a "funcle" to his nieces and nephews and I love that shirt.
I do have a "funcle" who is now in his 80s and still fun to be around.

What is it about those fun uncles? I don't remember ever having one, but our son and daughter are really close to each other and their children.

Yes, I did my Mother's brother was a fun Uncle. When we visited as kids during summer vacation I remember him giving us a ride on his tractor. Great fun! He also let us water ski at his and my aunt's lake house. Finally, let us turn the crank on homemade ice cream, a new experience for us city boys

@1creekgirl - I don't have a Funcle - I am a Funcle! At least I think I am. My nephew and niece seem to enjoy my company and some of the crazy things I do with them

Oh I love that shirt because I believe I'm also a funcle to the kids of my cousins. I like to wear that shirt also.
