Here is a follow up to my earlier post about The Eighties. For those of us who remember the 80's well there were some really cool fashion trends. Although looking back on that era you might wonder what was I thinking wearing that outfit or accessory. Anyway, ignorance is bliss and if you wanted to make a statement back then, and be with the "in crowd," these items were a must. Here is a few you might recall: -Members Only jackets -Swatch watches - Neon leg warmers -Jams shorts (those Hawaian inspired patterns) -Sperry Topsider shoes -Track suits (ala The Beastie Boys or Mafia members) -Puffy Vest Jackets- (see worn by Michael J Fox in Back To The Future) So do you remember any of these fads in clothing and accessories? Wear any? Any you can remember to add to this list? Source idea- Best Life Photo- liketotally80's.com

Today's trends are tomorrow's eye rollers. The 80s were better days.

@dgobucks226 You get nostalgic when old. The music and women were hotter then.

@dgobucks226 I wasn't into Madonna. I know she liked wearing her underwear on the outside.

I never got a Member's Only jacket - they were expensive back then. I loved leg warmers - but didn't get neon ones (I did have neon t shirts and suspenders). I didn't have Hawaiian shorts, but a couple Hawaiian shirts. For a while the gals styled a tux look, and then the Miami Vice blazer/tshirt look (which was also a Duran Duran look) - I recall bow ties and skinny neck ties. Oh - and I also remember beaded costume jewelry - various solid colors to go with the outfits. I'm sure there were more crazy clothing items from back then .

Wow, great additions to the 80's fashion list. I had an on sale Members Only Jacket. I did have the Hawaiian type bathing suit. Yes, I remember the T-shirt/Blazer style (white was cool) that Don Johnson wore on Miami Vice. I overlooked the skinny ties which were popular- good one I did not buy the Puffy shirts (brought back in a Seinfeld episode).

@dgobucks226 I do not remember I ever wore leggings, they came a lot later in Europe. I loved the long 100% cotton dresses of the early 70's. I have noticed today that they are back in fashion, I still have two in a trunk in the basement.

@LadyDuck Are they what you call "sun dresses now?" They are very popular here. Well, no shopping for long dresses for you. Your all set if you decide to wear them again

@Marilynda1225 Yes, the big hair was definitely prominent. If you were a balding musician you had a problem

the clothes in the 80's to me were hideous. i spent most of the decade in concert shirts and black spandex. not to mention you had to rip those big, godawful shoulder pads out of almost ANY women's shirts.i didn't much care for the linebacker look.

What were those shoulder pads trying to accomplish anyway? And the Madonna look was also popular with those lace accessories and huge cross...

I remember all of those well except the sperry topsiders shoes, I'm not sure I know what those are, what about parachute pants? Thankfully, I never got into any or those. I was not much for being with the "IN" crowd.

Yes, the tie-dye look was popular and I've seen those have come back again. I think Jane Fonda popularized those leg warmers from her workout video
