Health Report - Day 16

It's another glorious day in Northeast Wisconsin. The temp is currently 60 F (15 C) with very low humidity. Of course, that will change as the day wears on as we're supposed to get into the upper 80s and the dew point will increase. As it does, so will the hot sticky humidity. Yesterday was a low eating day, calorie wise and food wise. No doubt, I'll make up for the lack today. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the numbers from yesterday as I eat breakfast. Calories: 1016.92 Sugar: 39.615 Carbs: 110.515 Protein: 48.2 Sodium: 295 Fat: 43.3 I know the sodium is way low for yesterday as the minimum requirement is 500 mg. I figure I have a lot of over the top days of sodium, that a couple of low days will help more than hinder. Especially since I had no swelling yesterday. I also like how many calories I burned yesterday. I keep that up and I'll be wearing that suit before I know it. That's today's report. Now to interact with you. I found a book that tells how many calories are in all foods even fast foods.

That's true, but the minimum requirement is 500 mg, and I was way below. I know I had low sodium once on the blood tests and the doctor told me I needed to cut the amount of water I drank as it flushed it from my system.

@JohnRoberts Yes, it will. You need a minimum of 500 mg of sodium in your diet. I guess the day they took blood tests when I was in the hospital emergency room and had also drunk 7 bottles of water that day because I felt dehydrated, took all the sodium from my system. Doc told me not to drink more than three bottles of water a day. I think I read the maximum should be no more than 2400, which is normal for most people. I try to keep it low because I swell so easily from it.

@just4him Really? That's a first. They constantly urge to cut sodium. One potato chip will blast your sodium up!

I avoid to drink too much because a too low sodium is also dangerous. As everything, the right quantity, never too much.

You did very well yesterday for your caloric intake. I just finished packing my lunch for work, it isn't a lot, but it is very healthy, low in sodium and very hydrating. I am working until 6:45 this evening, and then again tomorrow. I will be very happy when I am back on my regular schedule in another couple of weeks. I hope you have a good work day. It's important to pack a healthy lunch. It's good you're not eating out of the vending machines or getting fast food if it's around your workplace as it was when I was working. Thank you. It should be a good day.

@just4him I surprised myself and did not eat all of my lunch, and came home feeling satisfied. We have a cafeteria with both healthy as well as unhealthy choices and we have a Tim Hortons.

Water can flush it from your system. So drinking too much water works against you instead of for you.
