There's a song and a movie called Pennies From Heaven. For most of us, we are here for the pennies and some even hope to earn 100 of them in a day.
Now, I read two posts yesterday from members who expressed a desire to earn a lot of those pennies, and yet they want to at the same time shut down those pennies from coming to their banks.
Interaction brings pennies to your bank. When you comment on a comment, the person you comment under earns pennies, even though the conversation might go off on a tangent, makes no difference. If someone is commenting on your comment, you earn.
Anytime you receive a comment with an emoji, you earn pennies. As long as someone comments on your post and you respond to that comment, you will earn.
How often you comment or respond is up to you. If you want to earn more, comment and respond more. It's as easy as that.
Don't cut off your pennies because you feel an emoji isn't worth anything or that the thread isn't what your post is about any longer. It started out that way and then veered into another direction.
It's like a phone conversation. You never stick to the same subject from the beginning to the end of the call, unless you are asking a clarifying question and that's all you want from the person you call. No, your conversations go off into a myriad of directions until you've exhausted all your news.
A post can lead in many different directions. Don't limit the people who want to respond to you about what they want to comment about. You might not be part of the conversation any longer, but the interaction below your comment still goes on and you keep earning pennies.
We still have half a month to make the minimum goal. Make the most of those pennies by interacting as much as possible. Sometimes, you can't do more than like a response, that's okay too. You still earn a penny or a portion of a penny since I don't know how the algorithm works. All I know is that the more I interact, the more my bank grows, and the more it grows, the happier I am as I have a set goal in mind each month.
Have you made your goal for the month? Are you hoping to make 100 pennies a day? I hope you all make your arbitrary and minimum goals for the site.

I think I have had one day where I earned 96 cents. It was a day we had a snowstorm and couldn't go out.

@just4him When I'm on myLot, I usually read a lot and respond to a few discussions unless I have nothing to do than I respond a lot.

@just4him I sometimes get comments that I dont even like because it looks as if they did not read. Like one said Nice work done when I talked about watching t.v. all day

@wolfgirl569 I've seen those too. The last one like that I didn't even bother to respond to or go to that profile to have a look. It wasn't worth it for me.

It's an uphill for me to earn 100 pennies a day. I just comment as many as I could. Even replying an emoticons when there are no words to say.

Yes, this website does earn us a bit of money. I like it most for the information that it is possible to get from it. There are so many people and they all have opinions and knowledge. No one's knowledge is less important than the other when we all share.

That's a very cute and descriptive post of how we could bring more pennies for our posts and responses.. 
Thanks for taking time to let us know the algorithm that you've noticed so far. I did not know that our emojis would bring fortune for us. Haha! I will keep them using more.. let everybody win.. 
And, what a beautiful comparison of our interactions with the phone call. Lovely my friend. 
Actually that's what we do here too. It's like a family and we pick up some topic and discuss about other stuffs and it keeps going on and on..

For me, I was quite away being here. I would like to spend here more. As such, I don't set any goals. Whatever comes, I would be happy about it. I don't have any plans to encash this quite often.. so it will stay there till I accumulate enough..

My only goal for the site is to have a good time, and when I have a really good/great time, that is when those pennies from heaven rain down on me. And like you, I appreciate each and every like, comment, emoji and so on that I get and that I can give. It helps to make our world go around.

I missed this when you posted it, but great subject! I agree with you though, about commenting and keeping the conversation going even if it is not really about what the original post was about!
I do shoot for 100 pennies a day, but haven't made it this month yet.....usually get 4 or 5 of those days a month!

That's not a lot of discussions to comment on. You also don't post very often so people can't respond to you for you to earn those pennies.
I post at least three times a day and work on upwards of one hundred notifications and more as they come in.
