Crown Me, I Am A Diamond Member

It's nice when people pay attention. Look, I am not saying I should be treated like a king by any means. But, when it comes to staying in hotels, I am a diamond member, the highest level you can achieve, and so you do expect just a little bit of extra treatment.
Not that I was offered a free upgrade to a suite or anything, one of the perks I am supposed to get when I book a regular room, but have only been offered once. I just need a room, thank you very much.
But I did make two specific requests. Again, nothing kinglike. I just wanted to be on the 2nd floor, and I wanted some extra regular coffee.
I like my coffee.
They accommodated both requests without a hitch, and actually read the requests. Often times I will put these things in when I book, but it is rare that the front desk person who checks me in actually makes note of them.
Plus, on top of that, my room was more than ready. It's been in the 90s even in Wisconsin where I am staying tonight (for business travel), and my room was at a cool temperature with the air conditioner running already when I got in the room.
Most of the time the room is either doggone hot or nail biting cold depending on the time of year of course and I have to get it cooled or heated myself.
It probably does help just a little bit that this particular hotel is one I always stay at when I am on business in Wisconsin, and so the guy pretty much knows me and considers me a regular.
But still.
It's good to be king for a night.

Generally most of the hotel staff know who I am since I generally stay at the same hotels on business, so it can be fun that way. They take extra care of me, I GUESS figuring I am helping pay their salaries AND I generally leave the rooms fairly clean. Plus, I do get the option of cashing in my rewards points for cash cards, and I really like that. For 26,000 pints I can get a Wyndham debit card for $100, and I generally get about 1000 to 1500 points per night. So it adds up quickly considering how many nights I am in a hotel.

Yes I hate the first floor too, so many people and slamming car doors.

That is part of the issue for me. The other is SOMETIMES they put me facing the parking lot, and depending on where I am staying, there may be parking lot on both sides, and I HATE it when people walk by my room...especially when I have my window open to let some fresh air in. I feel like I am in a fish bowl. I like my privacy, thank you very much.
